February 21, 20196 yr This new building will be good for Columbia Tusculum. I wish some infill would also come to the surface lot immediately to the south of this building. It would help to solidify the business district along Columbia Parkway. Also would love to see more investment around Eastern Avenue in the southern portion of CT. There are some beautiful buildings around there, and with some renovations and infill, it could be a really cool little sub-neighborhood of CT, with its own business district and everything.

Streetside Brewery is great down there but on a weeknight it is usually dead. Would love to see that area really pop.

July 16, 20195 yr If people were smart, they could do some underground parking as part of a large development, and turn the center of the square into a proper esplanade/park like Oakley and Hyde Park, but there is oddly never any push to do so.

There are lots behind the CVS/theatre that have been looked at to replace the square parking, but they are all owned by one person who vehemently refuses to sell them. There just isnt a lot of land around the square, so the only other options would be a development like this to support underground parking.

Plus, it'd be a shame to lose the commercial buildings there. Muz's was the first bar I ever drank in, and Ramundos was one of my high school hangouts. Would hate to see those go!

There will be 3 buildings demolished. 1 - Empty bar, which has been empty 5+ years 2 - Vacuum Store - On and off empty, looks like **** 3 - Only real business, mt lookout shoe repair, which will be a shame to lose The buildings are honestly ugly, in awful shape, and a constantly changing storefront. I'll be glad to see them go.

May 20, 20205 yr ^Adding 19 units (currently a single family) to that 0.77 acre site is pretty good density. It's a shame so much of the site will be surface parking, but otherwise it's good to be adding density to neighborhoods like Mt Lookout. I noticed on that street there are a few 4-family buildings owned by CMHA, so there's already some precedent for multi-family on the street. (I'm sure there will still by NIMBY outcry from some who want Mt Lookout to only have single-family homes). Would be an excellent location for multi family and I think these lots were just rezoned with Connected Communities.

April 23Apr 23 Wow, that's a really big project in a very historic area of Cincinnati. Good to add more density to this area. Not sure on the design as I am not an architect but hopefully the materials are very good at least. I think Towne does some decent looking projects? Maybe I am wrong.
