March 29, 200817 yr Good to see Youngstown pulling through! I want to visit this city badly ... not necessarily for the abandonments (see webby), but for the architecture and cityscape.
March 29, 200817 yr This sort of thing makes me very happy. The building on the left looks like it could be interesting restored, too.
March 29, 200817 yr Honestly, Downtown used to be the absolute pits; but so much progress is being done down there now. If you take a trip down 5th Ave. to see the historic home district, then thru Youngstown State and into Downtown; I assure you all will be impressed! This sort of thing makes me very happy. The building on the left looks like it could be interesting restored, too. h They are knocking that building down, it is the well known State Theatre. The good news is they are keeping the historic facade of the building; but that building and the one to it's immediate left on the corner are set to be long gone come next year. It will be used for parking, BUT the land will be open to any new development.

March 30, 200817 yr The proposed renovations to Federal Street. Originally the plan was to remove all the medians, but the citizens spoke against it. Now they keep them and the city gets the parking they want!
