Posted March 31, 200817 yr If this is an inappropriate thread, or it's in the wrong place, please delete or move it. I didn't want to put this in the career/networking thread, because I'm not actually looking for a job, yet. With the recent failure of the sales tax, the future of Youngstown's public transportation system is looking bleak. So, I'm contemplating a move to Cleveland, and was wondering if anyone knew how difficult it might be to find architectural related work. I might as well be picky and add that I'd prefer to work in or near downtown, or Ohio City. Because, if I move to Cleveland, I'd want to live in OC. I know there is a lot of new construction happening, but that usually means that most of the design work has already been done. Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There's a place called Doty and Miller in Bedford that recently renovated the old Bedford post office for their new offices, and got some "green" awards for it. (They are right across the street from the bar I work/drink at). Bedford has a real downtown (it's an older inner ring suburb) and said downtown is pretty walkable.

April 1, 200817 yr Thanks for the help everyone. I was expecting a more general response like: "The job market isn't doing well for young architects," or "There is a shortage of young architects in the Cleveland area." But, specific examples are good, too. Thanks again!
