Overall not too bad! An abundance of impressive masonry buildings, and although some need love, for the most part they look good. Nice-looking downtown.

Not bad!

Yeah, Findlay is not bad at all with an impressive buildings stock, great art deco (former) Marathon headquarters (although it has scale issues), respectable courthouse, and decent activity, but the street width is not softened with any streetscape elements and the capacity for pedestrians and the cityscape are both lacking at the river/bridge.

Looks fairly prosperous from the pictures.  The courthouse is a gem, and unusual in a nice way.  Like that the statue on top is of Hancock and not of Justice.  So, does the Marathon HQ building just stand empty or do they still occupy part, most, some or none of the space?  That must have been some blow to both the downtown and the town in general.

^From dfly's Findlay thread:

"Findlay was also the longtime headquarters of the Marathon Oil Corporation, from 1905 until 1990. Marathon is now based in Houston, Texas, but still maintains operations in Findlay under an organized subsidiary, the Marathon Petroleum Company."
