Posted April 19, 200817 yr This was my first time at TOL, and I'm not at all experienced with fireworks photography. I used my CF Extreme3 card to snap over 400 photographs in 29 minutes, pretty much one right after another while changing my shutter speed accordingly. I was parked along the riverfront, only approximately two-hundred feet downriver from the Clark Memorial Bridge, and was sandwiched between some drunken/stoned idiots who couldn't construct a simple sentence (kind of irritating actually), and some punk kids. But... well worth it! And you will see me back next year. I've added more photographs and a brief tidbit at American Byways. Enjoy! 1 2 3 4 The following three were taken in succession... 5 6 7 8 9
April 19, 200817 yr Great stuff! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
April 20, 200817 yr Very cool!! I LOVE the plane in the first photo. Pretty nice for not being used to shooting fireworks. How did you set your camera up to catch all of the fireworks? Awesome photos!!
June 3, 200817 yr I was sandwiched between some drunken/stoned idiots who couldn't construct a simple sentence Oh, sounds like you were surrounded by Kentuckians. We have those too but we keep them in Newport during our grand Fireworks festival.
June 4, 200817 yr I was sandwiched between some drunken/stoned idiots who couldn't construct a simple sentence Oh, sounds like you were surrounded by Kentuckians. Oh how I wish that was true...some of the hicks that come out of the woodwork for Riverfest on the Ohio side are absolutely unbelievable.

There is no law against kentuckians crossing the river into Ohio, unfortunately.
June 9, 200817 yr HEY ! I'm moving into Ohio in a few days, from Kentucky. I need to register my car for Ohio and receive Ohio plates. Which means two things: 1) I'll learn to adapt to the roadways of other states sans the state I am living in, Ohio. Blocking the left lane at slow speeds is a favourite past-time of Buckeyes; and 2) I'll learn to love the Red's, even though they SUCK! :D :D
June 9, 200817 yr Blocking the left lane at slow speeds is a favourite past-time of Buckeyes No, driving slow in the left lane is a favorite past time of Americans. I see it all over the country and it is pet peeve of mine.

I see it all over the country and it is pet peeve of mine. When I was a young whippersnapper, I never understood why old geezers thought they had to tie up traffic by driving slow. Now that I'm an old geezer, I realize we do it to p!ss off the young whippersnappers!
June 9, 200817 yr WTF! Ohio's license plates SUCK! I wanted customisation. That's not customisation! That's keeping the awful red and blue banners! And with a horrible, cartoony logo. Now here are some of Kentucky's beautiful plates... My current plate...
June 9, 200817 yr I think Ohio's Bicentennial plate was the best plate ever issued in america. Looks like you have AA on your kentucky plate seicer, you will probably have to get the yellow DUI plate when you move to Ohio.
June 16, 200817 yr 2) I'll learn to love the Red's, even though they SUCK! :D :D Those are fighting words right there! lol. From my experiences here around the Mason/Fleming county areas, KY drivers could get to their destinations faster on bicycles! Oh yeah KY plates suck! :P
