I actually LOVE China.  They LOVE LOVE LOVE all things American.

Yeah, I don't really understand where all this "dude, every country HATES us" stuff comes from. Most people love us and love our culture. It's funny, stuff we think is wrong with America (McDonalds) is stuff we're loved for in China.

 

 

My friend is doing an internship in China. I'm jealous.

I spent a week there a couple of years ago.  Didn't get to see much because I was predominantly in meetings or sleeping, but it was a fascinating place to walk around in when I got a chance.  Wish I could have spent more time exploring.  Have fun.

But wow, Punch, that sounds cool.  What kind of work are you doing over there?  There must be a pretty solid expat scene which sounds like fun (assuming you haven't yet picked up Mandarin).

I think Bush is an idiot, too. I wouldn't blame Chinese or anyone for thinking that. I voted for Kerry!

I know. the 2000 election we came out as a people scott- free b/c it was fraudulant. the second one in 2004 was a little closer to reflecting the will of the people so we are on probation.

I remember talking to German exchange students back in high school (graduated in 2004), and they told us that Europeans don't like our government/political leaders...but they really like the American people in general.  This has since been reaffirmed when talking to French and Belgium exchange students, at UC, about 6 months ago.
