A few pictures from a bike ride to Wendy Park after work this evening.  Unfortunately the sky was pretty hazy and overcast over downtown tonight...

Those are some great pictures. At this time of year, it seems that the lake is hazy because the heat is causing a lot of steam on the lake. I love that I can see the lake from my backyard!!

I'm confused on the "park?"  Where's the park at?  It looks like an old industrial area.  Great shots, regardless.

It's a new park on Whiskey Island, near the mouth of the river.

Very cool.  I need to ride over there soon.

Thank goodness for spring!

I read about this park on Cleveland.com. It sounded awesome and these pictures confirm that! Can't wait to go there!

Being new to the area I'm a little confused about Wendy Park.  What was it before it was a park?  Also I visited the website and saw the "master plan" (http://wendypark.org/history.html), is the renovation a for sure thing?

Also, I know there are sand vball courts out there but are there any grills to cookout?  And if so would a group of people get into trouble if they cooked out and drank grown up drinks?

sound like someone is planning a grown and sexy party.

Wendy Park was a bunch of things before it was a park, most recently "vacant".  The restoration of Wendy Park is as sure of a thing that could exist without a big basket of money to undertake the entire project, but it is in no danger of becoming developed or used for any purpose other than recreation and habitat restoration.

Here's more information on Wendy Park and Whiskey Island.

I don't believe that there are grills there, but you can bring your own.  Folks drink "grown up drinks", but they generally buy them from the Sunset Grille.
