May 5, 200817 yr Really, I stick by my claim that in my personal opinion, I like Great American better than Progressive Field. In my opinion Progressive is a fine ballpark but just seems fairly plain and generic. At least at GABP you know you're at a Reds game due to the red seats, Reds mosaics at the entryway, the satues of Reds greats in Crosely terrace, the Nuxhall quote on the outside, steamboat in the outfield, etc. The Jake felt like it could have been anyone's ballpark simply put down in downtown Cleveland. You're right, the Bob Feller statue, the retired Indians numbers, Heritage Park with the plaques and stories, the larger than life pictures of past Indians, are all generic. Wouldn't know where I was if they weren't called the CLEVELAND Indians.
May 5, 200817 yr Or our ballpark that has a view of our downtown compared to GAB which looks to Kentucky??
May 5, 200817 yr Or our ballpark that has a view of our downtown compared to GAB which looks to Kentucky?? And Kentucky is bad why? Kstay go up and read my post.
May 5, 200817 yr The architecture of Jacob's Field was meant to evoke the industrial architecture of the Flats. I think that ties it to place quite nicely.
May 5, 200817 yr Notice how GABP copied the Jakes lights! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
May 5, 200817 yr Everyone chill ... KStay2 is 23 and the inferiority complex floodgates have broken open. Not a good combination.
