Although the "private" school portion leaves many students out and comes across restrictive and exclusive you know – racist and classist. From an athlete’s point of view, if it’s only open to kids in private school you can be assure you are not competing against the best competitors head-to-head. World School Games on target for July '09 Friday, May 02, 2008 Bill Lubinger Plain Dealer Reporter An athletic event for international private high school students to compete and share cultures could debut in Cleveland next summer. The World School Games is just an idea - one with $30,000 from the Cleveland Foundation to make it happen. David Gilbert, president and chief executive officer of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, who devised the concept, envisions competition in swimming, soccer, tennis, track and field, basketball, volleyball and possibly others.
