Stuck in Greensboro for a few days, need some suggestions for some good barbeque!  What I've found on-line is a reference for Eastern style which is whole hog, no sauce, and only a bit of vinegar based seasonings vs. Western style which is mostly pork shoulder with a sauce!  I'm sure someone might have a suggestion or two.  I'd probably prefer the eastern style.  Of course, I could probably run up to Mount Pilot and see what they recommend at the diner!

 

No, I haven't run into the candidates, so I'm not sure what their preference is.

I very rarely get a chance to go to Country Barbecue, because one, they don't take credit cards, and two they are located on Wendover, which in my opinion makes going there a life or death situation.

 

Found this on Greensboro.com, and have no idea what the poster means by this, but I will try Country Barbeque and report back!!  Send out the cavalry if you don't hear from me soon!!

as an interested bbq fan -- where did you end up?

I had a traveling companion who wasn't interested!  Heading back in 2 weeks, solo, so I will definetly try it.

where did you eat?  Please give us a report.

I'm embarrassed to say.  Chain crap.  She was not interested in venturing out into the unknown.  My plan in 2 weeks will be to hit the Country BQ at least once, numerous times if necessary!!!!
