Housing project on tap near UC

BY DAN MONK | CINCINNATI BUSINESS COURIER

UPTOWN - MetLife Inc. and Trammel Crow Co. are planning a $24 million apartment project on Jefferson Avenue near the Cincinnati Zoo, with up to 140 units and a mix of amenities aimed at attracting graduate students and hospital workers.

"With the university shutting down a couple of their grad-style dormitory buildings, we hope to build something that will be attractive to that clientele," said Richard Dickason, a vice president in Trammell Crow's student-housing practice based in Boston. "We're looking to start construction first part of next year and be ready for a fall 2010 opening."

...

Do we have a better sense of where this will be?

I'm having a hard time picturing enough vacant land.

there's some surface lots and really run down properties over there, no?

this sounds promising and could definitely be a great project...I just hope it's not another McMillan Manor mess....

^The original article is from 2008.  That should tell you everything you need to know.  No way this project ever happens.

Is this the project that was built on Jefferson that replaced the comic book store across from Fries and the old Adriatico's?
