Posted May 14, 200817 yr You have 6 to 12 months before your loft condo/house/thing is built. You need a place that allows a dog. You have between $700 and $1200 to spend on a one bedroom. You would like to be on the near west side or near east side (Lakewood or Cleveland Heights are too far away). You're a little too old for the 20-something scene but far too young for the early retirement scene. What's the best pace?

May 14, 200817 yr I have the perfect place! 1287 W. 69th St. I've heard that the landlord is a total ****. ;)
May 14, 200817 yr Is the answer Tyler Village? no.. maybe someday, but not right now. We have our hands full with phase 1. I wish the Knitting Mills or Tower Press were dog friendly. *Sigh*
May 14, 200817 yr What kind of dog? Alot of places allow a small dog. If it's a Golden Retriever, on the other hand, good luck.
May 14, 200817 yr I've heard that the landlord is a total ****. ;) Thank you, that's the nicest thing anyone has called me! :wink2: Besides, you were probably talking with my daughter!! Talk about a complaining tenant!

I have a 6 year old Basset Hound who's quiet, house-trained and very friendly/patient (especially with little kids who seem to want to tug his ears). Though he is kind of a goofball. A little bigger than a small dog, smaller than a big dog.
May 16, 200817 yr well, I found a place, but my contractor thinks he can finish off my other place in 120 days.. sigh, I guess I'll wait. Anyway, e 55th and st clair, $800, loft space, close to the lake.. 1,800 to 2,200 SF.
May 16, 200817 yr in the old speak in tongues building that my brother and I bought over on Lorain Ave.
May 16, 200817 yr is it too intrusive to ask for some some pics? I would love to see it. Is that around 40th?
May 16, 200817 yr Not at all, we have finished gutting the building and are now about to do build out. We ran into some issues getting a mortgage on it even though we own 100% of the building free and clear mainly because we are looking to use some of the various "cheap money" programs, anyway here are some before and afters, I can post "after afters" when we start/finish build out: Before - After -
May 16, 200817 yr No problem, here's the entire album (I believe it's public): http://picasaweb.google.com/david.h.fleming/4309Progress02
May 16, 200817 yr Can I come to your housewarming party? Seriously, that is an awesome project. Yeah, we will have one 1,025 square foot space available for rent that would come with a secured parking spot in our car port/garage. So we'll be looking to set up tours soon. WW
May 17, 200817 yr very cool. We will look forward to more pics. Are you going to live on two floors.? Your dog is so cute...I love Bassets. looking forward to seeing him around the 'nabe. I am sure we will have lots of things to smell
May 18, 200817 yr very cool. We will look forward to more pics. Are you going to live on two floors.? Your dog is so cute...I love Bassets. looking forward to seeing him around the 'nabe. I am sure we will have lots of things to smell Thanks for the kind words. I think we are leaning towards doing 3 large units. two smaller units at 1,050 SF and one large unit at 2,700 SF. there is also talk of turning the store front into bottom floor living quarters that would attach to the two upper floors making each living space about 2,400 SF. We kept our plans very flexible to respond to various market conditions. that said, we are working with a restaurant to possibly take the ground floor, and that would be our preference, I believe.
May 24, 200817 yr Anybody live in a Madorsky building or Daffy Dan building? Or know about what it's like in those buildings?
