Posted May 20, 200817 yr Well hello there. As some of you know, I was studying architecture at Miami and decided to take some time off. I have been working for a Cincinnati design firm since January and have been living in Oxford since then. Come end of July, my lease will be up. Also, my firm is extending my employment with them for another year. My time with them was originally supposed to end in June but I needed more time off from school. Anyway! I am really excited at the possibility of moving to Cincinnati. I would prefer a place that is close to the downtown and easily accessable by public transit and where the community is walkable. Also, some place inexpensive would be great as well. If you know of any place, please let me know! Thank you!
May 20, 200817 yr I would recommend you take over my lease but trust me, you don't want to deal with my room mate!! Friends don't let friends live with Pete.
May 20, 200817 yr Now that I think about it Ludlow would probably be ideal for his personality and of course it's on the 17 bus route which runs frequently.
May 20, 200817 yr ^ Not the one they're talking about. They're referring to the area of Clifton near Ludlow Avenue. That's where The Esquire, Skyline Chili, and Dewey's Pizza are, for reference. There is a Ludlow, KY that is a sleepy little river city just west of Covington, but that's not what they're referring to.
May 21, 200817 yr Awesome! You should look into: 4th & Plum 6th St. Apartments (above Walgreens) Shillito Gramercy Groton Lofts Sycamore Place Lofts Rentals in Prospect Hill (there's a couple of "for rent" signs in this hood) Ludlow Kensey Flats I would say the Gramercy, I'm not a huge fan, but you might be.
May 21, 200817 yr ^All of the places list by Cincinnatus are great places to check out Downtown. You will most likely find more affordable rates once you get up the hill into Uptown. I would just recommend living along the 17 bus line somewhere...it is the best line in the city and has very quick/consistent service to Downtown. You'll find lots of places in the Uptown area since they are near UC. Good luck, if you need anything more specific feel free to ask.
May 21, 200817 yr ^ And, the further out you get on the 17, the cheaper it gets - see Mt. Airy. BUT, it also gets less and less walkable and more suburban vomitous the further you get... But, if you want excess space... I'd say for easy commute/affordable, go somewhere in clifton gaslight, near ludlow (or up near the university/fairview).
May 21, 200817 yr Northside can be those things as well and the 17 doesn't stop much between Northside and Clifton/Ludlow. Eden Park might also be an option, the 4 comes down Gilbert though that area has less in the way of everyday amenities.
