"a few of us are from the Philly area and are volunteering to move."

And we thank you for taking that chance :-)

Well some of us.. are coming home.. I'm just dragging my husband into Ohio from New Jersey. Everyone in my family (except myself and one brother) currently live in Ohio... so I have extra incentive

I do have another question..and if there's a thread here, someone can direct me so I dont derail the thread any further

But the husband and I will need to find doctors and a new vet, preferrably in the W112th - W117th area or close to the Tyler building. Is there a thread here I can look or someone to avoid.. PM me with info, please so I dont hijack the thread

Try the travel and relocation assistance section.  You can use a different thread there to get all the information you need without derailing this one.  Oh, and welcome back.  :-D

Also, apologies for talking about PC Helps so much... I feel like I belong in a different forum. :?

Hehe, Strap.

Thank you so much! I have now found my place

I was just in the PC Helps space a second ago, they are putting the finishing touches now. Carpet tiles are all in, some various electrical hookups are being connected, but overall, it looks move-in-able...

And that's good, cuz we're moving in on Monday!

I visited the office today with Loreleif and my family - the first time I'd actually had a really good look around the place.  The office itself is a wonderful space, bright, cheerful, a great place to work (as soon as we actually have telephones, at least).

Almost as impressive was the building itself and the area around us.  The view from our lobby, once we have new windows installed outside for us to view with, will be nothing short of spectacular.

As for the location, we walked through the area with a toddler on my shoulders and never once felt even the slightest hint of worry.  It was as far from what some people had led me to expect of the area as could be imagined - quite frankly, I love it, and I'm proud to be working in Tyler Village starting on Monday!

Werff,

Perception and reality are two totally different things. Check out the crime stats and you'll see that Tyler Village has a very low crime rate.

I haven't heard people complain about the area.  I always thought of it as being a relatively safe part of the east side.

That's pretty neat.

We just drove by it this afternoon and it didn't look bad; most of the reconstruction so far must be on the inside, didn't see any cranes or work trucks outside on the premises. Also noticed new windows, PC Helps is on the top floor? We were thinking of going inside, but figured we needed some sort of guide to be appropriately welcomed into the building. Some other time!

Just from driving around the place my boyfriend still wants to get me some pepper spray, lol.

Oh well, better safe than sorry I guess :)

sheesh.. 24 hour on site security, no problems in a quiet neighborhood.. you will run into far, far more problems in Tremont, ohio city or the cbd than you will at Tyler Village. I'm not sure where you and your boyfriend are from, but believe me, Tyler isn't a place you need to walk around gripping your purse in. It's basically filled with a bunch of business' and a few artists.

Security isn't one of my worries about it, actually. He might think it could be a troubling place but I did notice the cameras above almost every door. Seemed really nice. Wont be an issue anyway because most of the time would be spent inside the building which i'm sure is really spiff.

We're in!  Kinda :)

The build out of the office is pretty much complete, but we're waiting on the final inspection before we can move in.

Which means that we have nine consultants working in temporary space, in Old Man Tyler's office :)  Marble floors, glass-topped tables, air conditioning - nice!

And I've got to say, now that we're here, I'm even more glad than ever that we held out for this space instead of the Downtown location that had been proposed.  It's comfortable, it's beautiful, everything is great!

Can we get some pictures?

Oh, and congratulations:)

Yes, ma'am!  Wildo!  As soon as we, er...have some phones we'll get on 'em...

In the mean time, we'll just have to survive with our marble floors, wood-panneled walls and no real work to do...poor us...

Remind me again why I put up with you?

Curly-wurlies.

ok...now MayDay and I have had some back-and-forth doozies, but that (inside) conversation takes the cake!

when is the residential component of this project slated to start? I'm sure it would be pretty cool to live/work in the same complex.

We are focused on commercial development for now. Live/Work lofts will be on the west side of the campus when we get there, but we have other parts of the elephant to chew and eat first.

thanks ww

Is this development related? Not sure, but Frontroom Gallery, Bent Crayon and I are hosting a small concert at Tyler Village in the Frontroom Gallery's space on June 13th starting at 10PM w/a suggested donation of $5. While this may not be development news, art events play an important role to the overall village-vibe at Tyler, and I think it has a place in this thread. Matter and Memory as well as Fluxmonkey will also be performing.

IGNATZ

Appalachian old-timey folk ala John Fahey re-imagined as outer space blues by Brussels-based solo artist Bram Devens.

"Alien musical transmissions intercepted using an old victrola and played back by some crazy old man, sitting on his porch, armed with just an acoustic guitar, a pile of busted old wax cylinders, and a huge bank of broken and rusty effects pedals... So goddamn great!" (Aquarius Records)

"...his impassioned mantras of faith and devotion from behind the crackled veil of a prewar blues 78. But as Ignatz II again demonstrates, Devens has proven regularly able to re-interpret these borrowed texts in his own singular fashion, his handmade bricks again gloriously shaped, baked, and thrown." (Pitchforkmedia)

What's new? Indigo Imp Brewery cleared a major hurdle with licensing recently, so get your whistle ready to be wet with a Blonde Bombshell Ale!

PC Helps is moved in and getting fully integrated into the Tyler Village.

We have strong interest from a young law firm, a young publishing company and a cool biotech group (coming from outside Cleveland).

There is a new garden in the courtyard and you can see the storefronts going into building 44 right now.

Pretty cool.

YEAH...Tyler Village!!

First, as many others have said, congrats on the great work on this project.  It's wonderful to see such a great old building get new life.  One question though - on the 1st floor of bldg 44, on the side that faces superior, the bldg looks pretty deserted.  Right now it looks like a bunch of really big pillars inside with metal grating instead of glass windows.  Are there plans for this space?  It would make the whole thing look a lot more lively from the street.

Actually, as we speak that's where we are building out ground floor retail. Nu Life Fitness will be going in to the eastern corner and we are working with a deli to possibly to take the western corner.

Check back in 60 days.

Glad to hear it and thanks for the update.  Can't wait to see what comes next...

We're just getting all situated here at our shiny new office here in Tyler.

I've still got to go and back-blog at http://office.sparkbase.com with all the construction photos from the last few weeks.

Special Thanks to Jared from PC Helps for lending us his conference room last Friday. We hadn't received our Cert of Occupancy yet, and had a meeting scheduled.

All in all...we love it here.

Hi all! Just found this site today and thought I would drop my 2 cents into the mix.

I was in an office here back in 2003, and moved on to other ventures. When our new company decided to move our office back to Cleveland from Cali, this was the first place I thought of. The staff at TV are always helpful and know how to treat their tenants. And the over all improvements made this location our prime choice. I hope all works out for the new companies coming in and I am sure you will enjoy the Tyler complex.

Keep up the good work, and look forward to the future at Tyler Village.

news? well, I guess I have official news, if old news: E Prep signed their lease today to take on 35,000 SF growing to 100,000 SF over the next 3 to 5 years.

What does this mean? It means Tyler Village will basically have one building, Building 42, to do on the west side of campus. Our initial timetable once DigiKnow came into building 44 was 5 years for only building 44 before we moved on down 36th street. We are two years into it and 44 is all but done, with this lease, we have 75% of our 36th street development spoken for and now we pretty much have building 42.

THings have been moving.

That's great news!

Gee, I'm sorry to hear there are no takers for innovative adaptive use projects in this "dying" city. Guess we should go back to reading the doom and gloom in the PD.

^Or Forbes, for that matter.

smitten thx for that video, wow it was awesome.

i am especially glad to hear the mayor's office really stepped up their game and jumped to for pchelps. i hope they can continue to do that in the future in every instance.

And welcome WV, anyone?  Welcome WV! (that's ok, I only got one welcome when I joined :x)

^ ok, self-pity party over :-)

Thank you jeremyck01. Glad to be here. Looks like Tyler is moving in the right direction. They need more press though. Need to get the word out.

Cleveland Colectivo is holding our monthly meeting here tonight. I try to snap some pics (like I'm going to actually post them)

I am so far behind in picture posting. I'm still editing pics from Ingenuity.
