February 6, 20223 yr It’ll actually be more convenient for people from Dayton to go to it than it will be for people from Cincy to go there. I’m not even jokingSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
February 23, 20223 yr $50 million Liberty Center apartment project killed By Tom Demeropolis – Senior staff reporter, Cincinnati Business Courier The firm handling leasing, property management and marketing for Liberty Center was “disappointed” in Liberty Township trustees’ decision to not move forward with a more than $50 million apartment project at the development. Eric Morrison, director of development for Bayer Properties LLC, said Liberty Center needs to evolve with market needs and demands. On Feb. 15, Bayer Properties and developer Dobbins Group asked Liberty Township trustees to approve a major modification to a preliminary planned unit development plan that would allow for the construction of additional apartments at the $350 million center. The group was proposing to demolish two existing retail buildings at the southwest corner of the property to make way for a 273-unit apartment building. MORE
February 24, 20223 yr God, I cannot believe what a flop this development is. I never had high hopes, but it's truly a mess. Cheap construction materials- disconnected layout, value engineered to hell... It will be a ghost town in 5 years.
February 24, 20223 yr Downtown Middletown is healthier than Liberty Center these days, which is saying something. “To an Ohio resident - wherever he lives - some other part of his state seems unreal.”
February 24, 20223 yr The residential seems to be doing fine so I'm surprised it got turned down. Maybe there's another reason we don't know about.

February 24, 20223 yr Absolutely, the article didn't reveal the reason but I bet it was "we don't need another mega-apartment development and all that traffic!!!1"
February 24, 20223 yr What's interesting about this is that adding 273 units would be a game-changer (or life-saver) for Liberty Center's commercial tenants. That's 400+ people living on-premises, likely spending money there weekly.
February 24, 20223 yr ^yes, the apartments would help it a lot.I honestly think they should just go ahead and lean hard into the 35+ year old single bar scene vibe. When I went to Agave and Rye there to pick up tacos a few months ago, I decided to have a drink at the bar while I was there. The scene I saw was definitely 40-50 year olds cruising for pickups, looked like some possible swap stuff going on… maybe I’m crazy or misinterpreted but I’m 90% sure that I did not. Btw this was on an average Tuesday evening around 5-6 pm or so. They might as well cater to that demographic and do what they can to cultivate it, I’d like to think if I’m still single in 5-10 years there would be a welcoming place for someone like me to find people out in the real world… driving over there to it would not be ideal tho Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

February 25, 20223 yr Don’t know why the township wouldn't want to address the beginnings of a vacant mall situation - seems to me they were fortunate that the developer was reacting quickly to course-correct www.cincinnatiideas.com
March 3, 20223 yr Liberty Center will most likely never reach the critical mass that Easton has just based on location in my eyes. Regardless of how many five over ones they add to it. It's too far from Dayton, and too far from Cincinnati.
June 21, 20231 yr Liberty Center gets initial approval for luxury apartments, hotel Liberty Township gave approval in June for the development of apartments and a hotel at a major mixed-use development in the Cincinnati suburb. Liberty Center, a $350 million project near the Interstate 75 and state Route 129 corridors, received approval to develop 264 luxury apartments and a 145-room hotel at the site, according to a news release. Township approval is the first step to making those developments at Liberty Center happen, and it comes over a year after Liberty Township trustees shot down an over $50 million apartment project at the center. “This is a significant milestone in our plan to continuously pursue improvements at Liberty Center,” John Taylor, general manager of Liberty Center, said in a release. “We've had many new openings over the last year, continuing the leasing momentum. We are committed to a vibrant mixed-use center that brings together this community’s recreational, social and civic passions by giving residents the perfect place to live, dine, shop, work, and enjoy all the benefits this center has to offer.” More below: https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2023/06/21/liberty-center-additional-apartments-hotel.html "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
