Is there going to be a significant difference when the 3g iphones come out?  Should I feel like my iphone will be obselete, or at least regarding it's internet speed?

 

 

Yes, there is a significant difference. Question is which carrier are you using? Att already has 3G, TMO's is launching this summer (NYC already has 3G), with larger markets soon to follow.

What Cincinnatur said is true, but if you use WiFi mostly for your Internet, there will be no difference. The difference will be when you're on the road or out of WiFi range. I have no idea how good AT&T's 3G service is around here, but I know it's been rated the best "high speed" network from a wireless provider a couple years in a row now.
