We pick up the tour on South Moreland.  I honestly think the design and architecture, inside and out, of the buildings along South Moreland is much more interesting than the buildings on North Moreland.

This is the first building in my complex, Moreland Courts.  It’s a 12 building complex made to look like one continuous building. 

 

This is the most expensive building on Shaker Square.  The apartments are close to 4k Square Feet and are amazing!

 

 

To set the record straight, Shaker Square is a neighborhood IN Cleveland.

I really liked, both, can't really decide which I like better. I don't get why urban neighborhoods in Columbus are so anti-density. It wasn't like the sidewalks were jam-packed with masses of people, as if all the people buying condos at the TODs weren't proof of desirability. This is rather high-density, yet plenty quiet and green. We need to send our NIMBYs over here.

On occasion. I've only been in one though in 2001.  I missed last years event.

I have worked in Shake Heights for 8 years now and i'm still in awe everytime i drive through the neighborhoods etc.  Great pics.

Nice job MTS.  For some reason Shaker Heights and the Square don't get a ton of U0 photo exposure, and yours (and some others posted w/in the last week or so) begins to give our area justice... Awfully nice luxury when the need calls for exhibiting one of America's leading high-quality, high-density, TOD neighborhoods, you can merely pick up the camera, step out your door and start shooting.

Agreed, although, at last count Moreland Courts has been in 12 photo threads.  So I'm not complaining. :wink:  The eastside doesn't get much love here as most folks are on the Westside or Downtown.

 

We have such great archetciture around here.  I only had an hour and the kids were getting hungry, so I couldn't go down larchmere, buckeye, Van Aken or over to the Shaker Lakes.

 

Maybe I'll do those in a couple weeks.  8-)

I've been to Mariemont many times, it actually compares very much with Cedar-Fairmount in size (maybe a little smaller) but with the tudor motif and an historic hotel in both neighborhoods.

Actually, Mariemont may be less dense, as there are more houses than apartments.

Shaker Square is definitely bigger.

I don't really get much of  Mariemont vibe from these pictures.  More so Madison Rd. through Hyde Park...
