Central Missouri State University (74), Warrensburg, Missouri SE of Kansas City.... home of "The Fighting Mules".... yeah, I know... funny.... but Missouri Mules were once the mainstay for transportation for the U.S.Army, dating back to before the Civil War.

Got my BS in Criminal Justice and Political Science and later went back for a Masters in Mass Communications.  Actually a good school.

Have been practicing law since '92 (I'll get it right one of these days), and became Preservation Ohio's first-ever Executive Director in 2002.  I still do both.

I know that whoever I work for will get a kick out of me - my sparkling eyes, my dazzling smile, my Southern accent, and my sarcasm.  If you know anyone looking for someone like that, send me a private message.

If not, then I will soon be starting my own seminar...."How to make a living off being a professional interview-ee".  :)

GEEZ, I feel kinda dumb next to you all - master's degrees, technical concentration, and such.  My college was more like PCU.  I did make some great friends there though.

AB(Rockwell) . It is a good place to work. They are very employee centric. I started as an intern when I was a sophmore and I never left!

Did you ever work work at Parker? I know a few engineering students that had internships there, they were pretty neutral about the place.

^ worked at Parker right after graduation, they sent me to a 10 week training class along with everyone else they hired that year.  On the last day of the training, we were all layed off over the phone.  That has been the only job in my life I have not been asked to return to.

I cleaned out my desk on 9/10/01, and was set to start my job search the next day.  Those plans went to hell.

Still bitter  :-)

I just realized that I never posted here. I just graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Geography/ Urban and Regional Planning and am currently seeking employment!

^ Well, good thing we're starting that new city!

Wait, did you mean real employment?

That sucks big time! It is amazing how different companies can be when it comes to employee treatment. Some of them just don't care, while others figure a happy employee is a productive employee.

Sounds like a bad string of luck. I hope things have improved since!

One thing is for sure from your post, Parker knew about Sept 11

Right now, I'll take anything!!

I'm no longer alone here.

I went to Toledo University or University of Toledo and now am a Civil Engineer.

  • 2 weeks later...

I got my BS in Geography (GIS) from Penn State.  I got my first "professional" job in Wooster, OH.  I make vector maps from orthophotos.

  • 2 weeks later...

Got a degree in Environmental Science from BGSU, worked at the St. Joseph County Parks in South Bend, Indiana for a while as a Seasonal Interpreter (and no, that doesn't mean I looked outside and told people, "Yep, it's still winter.")  Basically I was a naturalist for the busy season (spring, summer, fall).  Then I worked for an Environmental Consulting firm for a while, then I moved back to Ohio and worked at an internet company in Akron doing quality control and a little programming.  Then I worked at the Summit County Metro Parks in Marketing.  Simultaneously I was performing at Pickwick & Frolic on the weekends in the Midnight Martini Show.  I have since left the parks and moved to Cleveland to perform more.  I also work part time at Star Restaurant at Playhouse Square as a "singing server" to make ends meet (Yes, it really IS as glamorous as it sounds.  :wink2:).  Man, my career has taken an odd path...

^are you one of those people who makes me put out my cigarette when you're singing?

I was born in Sandusky and lived there for 13 years until 1998.  Then I moved to the Norwalk area and lived there for 8 years (and still live there, technically).  I attended Terra State Community College in Fremont from 2003 to 2005, earning an Associates Degree in General Science.  From there, I transferred to Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois (between Chicago and Rockford) and I am currently studying Meteorology.  I should graduate in 2008 (hopefully :) ).

And that's my life story! LOL

^are you one of those people who makes me put out my cigarette when you're singing?

No, but there's no smoking where I sing, so somebody would make you put it out anyway...

Currently do research, public policy work and programming on behalf of artists and arts and culture organizations in Cleveland. It's great, but my heart's in community development ... If I could just merge the two, I'd be one happy camper.

Lots of political science majors. Mine has absolutely nothing to do with urbanization :[

Although computers themselves apply to any industry.

Went to Columbus State Community College for a year. Finished up my schooling May '06 at the Community College of Beaver County in Monaca, PA with an Associate degree in Air Traffic Control.

I'm unemployed right now looking for something to tide me over until I get hired as a controller by the FAA.

I'm currently a sophomore journalism major at University of Hawai'i at Manoa. I'm also minoring in Japanese. Even though it's a good 3 years away, I plan on going to graduate school for mass communications.

I went to OU for a year and a quarter and absolutely hated it, despite its journalism reputation. Too near West Virginia/far away from anything/drunk for me :\

Troy State? Is that the same school that almost beat FSU last weekend?

OSU, of course. Why would I have gone anywhere else? I'm currently looking for work to utilize my Spanish major (I have an interview this week). I hope to somehow keep up my Arabic, ان شاء الله.

^^ Yep, them be the Trojans!  Almost pulled off one of the biggest upsets in college football!

I've fallen out of favor for FSU over the years.  Always felt sorry for them for not winning the big games in the late 80's and early 90's...when Bowden passed Joe Pa a couple of years ago as college's winningest coach, they went 'off the list' forever!  :x
