Posted June 18, 200816 yr Continuing my week of road trippin' and time away from the community development grind, I spent some time in three neighborhoods in Pittsburgh this afternoon. Here's the first set from Mt. Washington. The set of Bloomfield is here, and the South Side ones are here. If anyone wants a link to the set of full-size photos (or any others of mine), just drop me a PM and I'll gladly share. Mt. Washington overlooks Downtown Pitt. There are all kinds of cool observation areas. ...here's what they look like. ...and here's another perspective. Excuse the overcast. Not quite photo-taking weather. One of the houses on the edge that has a great view. Heinz Field. This wasn't from Mt. Washington, but was shot from below. It's close to where you can hitch a ride on the incline to the nabe. Here's the neighborhood. The streets are pretty tight...people tend to park with two wheels on the sidewalk. Cool nabe, just not the most pristine. Who can come up with a good joke about "Packs & Dogs?" Here's the street where the shops in the previous photos are located. The neighborhood has cool topography. There's a dollar store and supermarket on the right-hand side. Fire station Back to the edge of the valley.

June 21, 200816 yr Nice! On balmy summer nights, the overlooks draw a lot of people of all ages. It's a pleasant feeling to be in the midst of such a mixed crowd just enjoying the evening.
