Here are some photos of my trip to Rocky Mountain National Park, our ranch sat just outside the southern entrance to the Park.  There is a certain beetle that is killing most of the pine trees in the area (notice all the brown on the mountain). The Colorado River ran about 10 feet behind our cabin and is little more than a creek, but was running strong due to the record snowfalls still melting.

I looked at my back porch one morning and this moose was about 15 feet away, his female companion was in the trees about 20 feet away.

This is a huge windfarm on I-70 in Kansas, you can not appreciate how huge these things are from the photos, they are gigantic and most were really moving if they faced the wind direction that day.

Mountain Pine Bettle

A result of too many trees, too many deadwood, and not enough wildfires that occur with some regularity. Fires boost a tree's national defense systems, clear out the deadwood and undergrowth (making fires burn less hot) and thin the trees out.

Great photos! I really loved the windfarm image.

those are breathtaking!  thanks!

I don't miss living in Colorado but the nature is certainly beautiful.

Beautiful photos!

Grand Lake is a nice little town. I've been there 3 or 4 times. My wife's aunt and uncle have operated the summer rep theater there for a while. David Hasselhoff got his start there. They're weren't really that proud of that fact.

Enjoyed the photos.  Looks like a wonderful place....
