^ ooo i was wondering about that since i remember seeing another 20 story tower proposed on the emporis.com page for cleveland, and i thought the project was cancelled heh heh

THE TOWER WAS DESIGNED BY GSI ARCHITECTS. THEIR WEBSITE IS AWFUL HOWEVER AND DOES NOT SHOW ANY PICTURES.

hmm yea, didnt they do a version of the convention center? im thinking the lakefront one?

Nice!! Let's just keep hoping that we can get a rendering of the project pretty soon!!

Yep' date=' GSI did the lakefront proposal for the convention center - they have a pretty modern style - they did the University Hospitals Westlake campus and the [b']Ohio Turnpike[/b] travel plazas as well.

oh how i love the commodore perry one

Wow! The shape is showing nicely.

I want glass

ohhh a nice addition for some filler into the skyline

I want glass

and i want ass

pinnacle100904.jpg Great pic, now it would be great to see how District Park will add to the skyline along with the Pinnacle.

i was just downtown this evening and could see The Pinnacle rising above the WD, it looks huge compared to the buildings around it.

Great pic, you can see how Cleveland's downtown housing market has changed a once run down part of the city. Can't wait to see more

^ that is one of the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen!

The arc thing is complete all the way back and front "shell" is being formed with lower grade steel as opposed to main frame steel:

Hey I see the tree i my second shot!

Read this on the plain dealer forum.  Appears as though it is from Crains Cleveland.

CITY CONDO TOWER TOPS OFF, RENTAL SUITES CUT

Ironworkers were scheduled late Friday to raise the ceremonial evergreen tree to signal the topping off of the 14-story Pinnacle condominium tower, though plans still are changing for the Warehouse District project. Developer Gus Georgalis said he no longer intends to retain half the 80 suites as rentals in order to avoid adding to downtown apartment vacancies and to make a fully owner-occupied building more attractive to prospective buyers. Still rising is price: Mr. Georgalis said he'll hike prices 10% at month's end. -Stan Bullard

Did someone say glass? Here's a pic from the first week of November - the pic doesn't do it justice - the tones are blue and green - very blue and green:

And while it isn't a huge presence in the skyline, it does add a teensy bit on the western edge of the CBD (lower left corner of the pic):

i heard they have the inflated giant labor rats out there in front of pinnacle? whats the labor dispute about? i imagine its holding up construction. i hope they resolve it quickly.

some of you may not have seen the big old rat, but its a staple in old union towns, esp like cleveland. here's some info about it and a photo:

oh i seen that rat everywhere, esp when Bush is in town lol

How would you like to be the person that sits in the little cabin of a tower crane. Thats a long walk to the top. Imagine what it was like when they built Key Tower.

^i heard those crane dudes(-ettes) are in training for a year just to be able to operate one of those puppies

Can't wait to see the finished product!!

oh this is looking real nice, the blue glass stuff looks awesome.  imagine it at night!

Is the blue glass similar to the North Point building on 9th and Lakeside?

Just wondering

Yesterday the 4th of December.

What do you suppose a lot not unlike the one Pinnacle is sitting on is worth at present market values?

BTW, am I correct in assuming this is the tallest building in the WD?

If memory serves me right, the lot that sits at the southeast corner of West Sixth and St. Clair recently sold for around $4 million. Mind you, that's with the current zoning/tax laws that make collecting parking fees more profitable than developing the site.

I'm not sure on actual statistics for the Pinnacle's height - I know Crittenden Court and the Rockefeller are current tallest but Pinnacle looks to be a contender for the top 3 if nothing else.

Well yeah Rockefellar, but I sort of consider that not so much WD.  But I see your point.

Snail pace, still union troubles?

ooooh we got some window paneling going in now. slow progress yes but still good news. they better move quick before the winter wind really starts to kick up!

Folks - there's been plenty of  progress - see the 'mullions' (aka lighter steel that holds the glass panes)? Those weren't completely done in my last pic. There's also work going on in the interior of the building - but I'm not climbing up on the Shoreway to take a pic of that!

Awesome shot.  Glass coming in patches.
