Got a quick question for all you Columbusians.  I am getting married in June 2009 and the fiance and I are looking for reception locations.  We are getting married downtown at the Holy Cross church, and would like our reception to be downtown as well.  Complicating the situation is the fact I currently live out of state (and therefore can only see the reception places online), and the fiance will be joining me down here approx July 12th.  So we would ideally like to get this squared away before she relocates.  We will have about 250 guests- some places that she will be visiting include the Athenaeum and the Vault.  Has anybody had any experience with either of these places, and any other suggestions?  Thanks for the help y'all.

You know, I went to a wedding reception at the YWCA about a couple of months ago and it was pretty nice.  Try that out.

Through second-hand experience, the Athenaeum looks like a great downtown location.  I've gone to multiple conferences at the Athenaeum and the operators have given me a full tour of the interior.  There must be dozens of rooms available within the building.  And the rooms run from very small to very large in size.

As a bonus, the interior is dazzlingly beautiful.  Its a former Masonic Temple and those masons sure built with style.

Another option might be the glass sheltar at North Bank Park. It sits right on the riverfront, has pleanty of on-street parking, and has a great view. The only problem is that I don't know if it would fit a guest list of 250 people.

Also, fantastic choice in getting married at Holy Cross. That church is breathtaking and is actually the oldest Catholic church in Columbus (not St. Joseph Cathedral, like many people think).

You beat me to it! I've attended a couple of receptions at the north bank park pavillion and it really is a great setting. 250 may be pushing it a little but the last one I attended had seating for 200 and as long as the weather is nice it wouldn't be a problem.
