Posted July 1, 200816 yr So I got a free plane ticket about a year back that allowed me to go round trip on any Midwest Airlines flight. Of all the cities I could've gone to I chose Cleveland because it was somewhere I'd never been and it is the largest city in the great state of Ohio. I flew in from Milwaukee on Monday morning. I arrived at Cleveland Hopkins at about 9:30 AM, so I had the whole day to explore. Day Three was a hodgepodge of traveling. 169. This beauty was on Detroit Ave somewhere between 74th St and the West Blvd Station. 170. West Blvd-Cudell Station 171. 172. W. 25th-Ohio City Station 173. 174. The West Side Market is beautiful and larger than I expected. It was full of meats, fruits, and veggies. And while it is much larger than Findlay Market in Cincy, I still think Findlay is more beautiful. Sorry Cleveland. 175. 176. 177. 178. The neighborhoods in Ohio City are adorable. 179. 180. 181. 182. 183. This is one gorgeous school. And while the addition is nowhere near as beautiful as the original building, I think it suits it well. For some reason, Tremont bored me. I can't quite explain it. I know it's supposed to be the best neighborhood in the city, but nothing inspired me to take pictures, so there aren't any to show you. There was a cool coffee shop though, I think it was called Centennial? Maybe I'm way off. Sorry guys. So back to Tower City to transfer trains and head back to the East Side. 184. I LOVE this view. 185. Another cool sign at Tower City, down on the RTA platforms. 186. I got lunch at Tommy's on Coventry and it was really good, but the best part was the cookie dough shake I got at the end. 187. This cool set of ruins was right off of Coventry at the Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights. 188. After this short walk I sat at Dewey's on Shaker Square for a few hours, soaking in the magic. Unfortunately the only pic I took was an ugly one of myself. 189. So then it was back to downtown to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 190. 191. 192. 193. 194. 195. Right about here I walked to Starbucks at Playhouse Square and picked up a bunch of free stuff. Because I'm a partner (employee) all I have to do is say my partner number and the free food and drinks come rolling out across the country. One Venti Cinnamon Dolce Latte and a toffee almond bar later... 196. Colonial Marketplace, another beautiful shopping center in downtown. 197. This looked like a cool little street, but I didn't venture down it. 198. I like this alley. It's creepy. 199. 200. 201. So that's it for day 3.
July 2, 200816 yr You did good, I liked it. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
July 2, 200816 yr Awe, no one likes Day 3? That's okay...it was my least favorite too. Folks usually respond to one (usually the first) thread of a series. That doesn't mean we don't like the rest as these are nice.

Thing is that Tremont tends to be an evening/night time neighborhood. That's when the hoards of folks rush into the bars and restaurants. Art Walk evenings also bring in the folks. Daytime on a weekday, though, is not it's best time. Did you at least make it into Visible Voice Books? It has one of the more eclectic collections in Cleveland.
July 15, 200816 yr I've only been to Tremont a few times but to me its one of the best places to dine or go to bars in Cleveland. As in you can't really go wrong with going to Tremont eat and/or drink. The quality of the experience is going to be pretty high. Although I think there are definitely some pretty outstanding food choices throughout the Cleveland area. The high quality is really concentrated there as Lolita and South Side can make you come begging back for more.
