I hauled the tripod down to the the free Cleveland Orchestra concert on Public Square this evening. Haven't tried taking night time photos in years so these are not that great but it was fun playing around with he camera until the downpour started!

The first two were without the tripod:

Excellent photos!!  I love how the Terminal Tower's lighting looks!!

Nice.  I wished the TT changed colors for all holidays, and parades.

The TT should having the dancing/blinking tower every hour on the hour like the Eiffel Tower.  It would definetly put a smile on everyone's face!

Did I hear, or see, it here but doesn't Atlanta go by the saying, "Everyday is opening day" ???  I hope once the tower renovation is complete, we won't have to wait 364 days to see this again!  I think something as simple as a dancing TT would be a huge step in the right direction of a new Cleveland.

I think the lighted building is nice for a special occasion, but more regularly...not so sure. Currently Christies Caberet has the switching lights and it is kind of  tacky. I think the best use of colored lights would be on all the bridges b/c they are unique to Cleve. And it should be every night!

Too bad about the rain but it looks nice nevertheless.

nice pictures. I walked by and took a few around 7:45ish, but those are far far better

Great pics Redbrick.  Next best thing to being there.

I think the TT will have the capability with the new lighting system to change colors (Is it LED?).. for special events etc. pretty easily as opposed to the old way of having to switch out all the colors.

How do people not love this city?

The more pictures I look at on UO, the more I love this city, lol.  I think MayDay should head up a photo column in the Plain Dealer so people can actually see how cool it is, not just us UOers who already know how cool it is :-D

What more do you want?  Possibly the greatest orchestra in the world playing for free, outside on a July evening, with the symbol of your city as the backdrop.

Cool pictures. Looks like you're not so rusty after all, Redbrick!

MTS, you're not a bitch. The orchestra is. They may be a damn good orchestra, but there's no need to get all petty proprietary over a 19-second You Tube video.

Was that a Freudian slip, KJP?

Nooo Nooo Nooo.  I'm the nice bitch from the Eastside, you must be confusing me with that other child, the evil wicked bitch of the Westside!

Sorry. You all look alike to me....

Anyway...nice photos!

No complaints here.....well that is until I got soaked that night.

How many people went to that? It doesn't look like a very big crowd. :(

I think the pictures don't tell a complete story.  My brother said about 85k were out there.

Awesome!

^^MTS beat me to it

The paper said 80,000 - to me it felt about the same as it does every year, although I always sit in the middle, so it's packed every year.  Perhaps someone on the edges could say more?
