Posted July 3, 200816 yr I hauled the tripod down to the the free Cleveland Orchestra concert on Public Square this evening. Haven't tried taking night time photos in years so these are not that great but it was fun playing around with he camera until the downpour started! The first two were without the tripod: The rain drops were starting when I took this one:
July 3, 200816 yr The TT should having the dancing/blinking tower every hour on the hour like the Eiffel Tower. It would definetly put a smile on everyone's face! Did I hear, or see, it here but doesn't Atlanta go by the saying, "Everyday is opening day" ??? I hope once the tower renovation is complete, we won't have to wait 364 days to see this again! I think something as simple as a dancing TT would be a huge step in the right direction of a new Cleveland.
July 3, 200816 yr I think the lighted building is nice for a special occasion, but more regularly...not so sure. Currently Christies Caberet has the switching lights and it is kind of tacky. I think the best use of colored lights would be on all the bridges b/c they are unique to Cleve. And it should be every night!
July 3, 200816 yr nice pictures. I walked by and took a few around 7:45ish, but those are far far better
July 3, 200816 yr Great pics Redbrick. Next best thing to being there. I think the TT will have the capability with the new lighting system to change colors (Is it LED?).. for special events etc. pretty easily as opposed to the old way of having to switch out all the colors.
July 3, 200816 yr Yep, the new system is LED which can be switched in minutes (? I could be wrong on that) instead of what used to take 2-3 days to switch out the gels. You're right, redbrick - they're "not that great", they're pretty d@mn good!!! :-D clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
July 3, 200816 yr The more pictures I look at on UO, the more I love this city, lol. I think MayDay should head up a photo column in the Plain Dealer so people can actually see how cool it is, not just us UOers who already know how cool it is :-D
July 3, 200816 yr What more do you want? Possibly the greatest orchestra in the world playing for free, outside on a July evening, with the symbol of your city as the backdrop.
July 3, 200816 yr How about that orchestra's management *not* sending me the equivalent of a "cease and desist" for posting a 19-second video of last years performance on YouTube? Sorry, does saying that out loud that make me a b!tch? :-D clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
July 3, 200816 yr Cool pictures. Looks like you're not so rusty after all, Redbrick! MTS, you're not a bitch. The orchestra is. They may be a damn good orchestra, but there's no need to get all petty proprietary over a 19-second You Tube video. July 3, 200816 yr "MTS, you're not a bitch." *Ahem* :whip: clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram

I'm the nice bitch from the Eastside, you must be confusing me with that other child, the evil wicked bitch of the Westside!
July 3, 200816 yr Sorry. You all look alike to me.... "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
July 4, 200816 yr Anyway...nice photos! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
July 14, 200816 yr How many people went to that? It doesn't look like a very big crowd. :( I think the pictures don't tell a complete story. My brother said about 85k were out there.
July 14, 200816 yr ^^MTS beat me to it The paper said 80,000 - to me it felt about the same as it does every year, although I always sit in the middle, so it's packed every year. Perhaps someone on the edges could say more?
