Seems to be doing decent. I have a buddy that works for the company that redid the place. He said the opening of Columbus brewing has helped push some more traffic.

Uhh...not of I prefer Sonic's selection.  Hell, I prefer Culver's (Wisconsin) over Ohio-based Wendy's.  So homeboy's don't always come first.

Though Swenson's galley boy (or whatever) is quite tasty.

yeah but you didnt say "screw wendys" over culvers, esp if in fact you like at least some stuff at both. point being you can like sonic w/o dissin the homies, they need our love.

Portsmouth has a Sonic! I thought Sonic was based out of Charlotte, though. When a buddy of mine worked at Toyota West in Columbus, they were owned by Sonic Automotive, which in addition to owning many auto dealerships across the country, also owned Sonic Drive-In and several NASCAR tracks. The guy who owned it all's name is O. Bruton Smith.

Fine.  Screw Wendy's.  They don't need my love.  Go Culvers.  Happy?

Actually, Culver's is better than Wendy's, albeit more expensive.  But being in and around the Chicago area, my love goes to Portillo's!

so finally years after seeing sonic commercials on TV, the new closest one will be in columbus?

golden coral here i come!

Hey!  Golden Corral, while a pig farm full of ignorant nitwits, unsophisticated twirps, and the UN Council of the Overweight, has good bread!

Golden Corral.  A restaurant I make a point to avoid when I'm away from Red Stick, Napolean's horse, the Browns' old training camp site, and the Main Line.

"We" don't love her.  "You" love the red-headed tramp.  I only dig her chicken nuggets.

And yes I do speak for "we" as "we" implies "me and you."  And her frostys are about as good as that bitch Dairy Queen's.

Cameron Mitchell plans to open a restaurant in the Short North that emulates a traditional Italian wine bar. Marcella’s is expected to open in the spring in the 130-year-old Yukon Building, 601 N. High St., north of the Union Station Cap.

Sounds good...like having a Figlio's downtown.

Good.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

The man chosen as America’s top chef last year will make Columbus the home of his first restaurant.  Richard Rosendale, who was the top chef at the Greenbrier Resort’s award-winning Tavern Room Restaurant, plans to start a modern American restaurant, Rosendales, in the Short North by the end of March.  "Columbus has enough of everything we wanted, and that made it the perfect spot," said the classically trained chef, who has won more than 35 national and international medals.

Rosendale, 31, was the American Culinary Federation’s Chef of the Year for 2005.  He is a native of western Pennsylvania but knows Columbus well.  Seven years ago, he worked as a chef for Hartmut Handke, the award-winning owner-chef at Handke’s Cuisine in the Brewery District.

It is about time we get to enjoy Sonic. I was tired of seeing the commercials like they were almost teasing Columbus. I went to school down South and Sonic was always better than the usual Wendy's and Mickey D's!

I still want a Jack-in-the-Box  :-D

^^^Or Carl Jr's! Furthest east I've ever seen one is off I-40 in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Or In-and-Out

oh yeah in-n-out is the best of'm.

^My point is that they are both trash.

^^ No doubt, all fast food is trash....except for the sliders at White Castle. ;)

No, they are the king of trash.

The only non-trash fast food is...um...hmm...Chick...Fil...A?  Maybe because they are closed on Sundays...

^^ Arby's always seemed on the higher end of fast food to me. Their stores are clean and those Jamocha shakes are great. The question for me is: Is Steak N' Shake considered fast food...or a low end Denny's?

No.  Arby's comes from Boardman.  Trash.

And Steak N' Shake is a low-end Eat N' Park.

I forgot about Eat N' Park. I think you need to reverse you last statement. :)

No.  Eat N' Park atleast has smiley cookies.

"You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

^^Good point.

Steak and Shake is a ripoff, even with a coupon.  Eat n' Park is pretty good, and the Beaver Falls PA location was always packed when I lived there, no matter the time of day.

Eat n' Park always advertises on Indians radio broadcasts. I always found it odd that a restaurant would call itself "Eaton Park."  Now I understand (boy, they have the most annoying ads around).

Why is Eaton Park such a weird name for a resturant? The fanciest resturant in Hamilton used to be Eaton Manor.

Though really it should be "Park N' Eat."

Alas.

So, my mind is on other things as the ad drones on in the background for the 1000th time this summer. Then the ad talks about fun for kids. Then I hear that its a "park." So I'm thinking that its some third-rate amusement park somewhere in western PA. Then one day, I actually pay full attention to the ad and am surprised that its a restaurant. So, there's your explanation. (I hate the ads with a passion).

happy birthday smiley!

Give me Rally's!!!  5 chilli dogs for $5....does it get any worse..uh..I mean better!?!

^Clevelanders...tsk tsk.

Rally's.  Tsk tsk.
