It opened its doors to the public at the end of September with the tagline, “Connecting Homeless Cats With Happy People”. The space is divided into two sections: the café and the cat area. Situated in the front of the building, and separated from the cats by a set of doors, the café offers local fresh brewed coffee and baked goods from Pattycake Bakery, which can be enjoyed in the café or taken into the cat lounge area. The second part of the building allows for 10-12 cats, all relocated to Eat, Purr, Love from the Capital Area Humane Society. October 25, 20168 yr ^Will not support. They use chicken base in their hummus and that's a non-starter. I know it's besides the point, but they don't call their hummus vegetarian/vegan, do they? They should clarify if they don't say, one way or another.
October 25, 20168 yr ^They do not. I was told by a really nice cashier at one of their Greek Express locations. If you are vegan, that makes it almost impossible to have any sauce their, outside of hot sauce or mustard. A traditional hummus is supposed to just be ground chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and maybe garlic. I was told they add the chicken for "flavor" - a good traditional hummus doesn't need help with flavor beyond the ingredients I mentioned. Very Stable Genius

November 3, 20168 yr Oh you mean over-priced foods (Dick's) couldn't last a year and a half? Color me surprised. Second that! Dick's Last Resort was a mind-bogglingly awful restaurant concept. Think Applebee quality food & drinks served by an intentionally surly and insulting wait staff. Sound like fun? Check out this comment from CU's report on Dick's closing: http://www.columbusunderground.com/dicks-last-resort-closes-arena-district-location That kind of gimmick is just silly and alienates most people before they even look up the menu. I'm not trying to stop in after work for a quick bite and drinks, because I don't want to be hassled. You think a mother and her children are stopping in before a concert to get dinner so they can all get hats that say "I Blow Bubbles" only to have a man at the next table have a hat that says "BUBBLES"? The Dick's schtick just wasted a prime location next to the arena for 17 months. Good riddance to them! If a craft brewery goes into this space, they'll clean up before and after the Blue Jackets games.
November 4, 20168 yr Rooks Tavern Opens in University District Rooks Tavern, the University District’s new upscale barbecue joint, officially opened on Tuesday after months of setbacks and a soft opening last weekend. Opening week has come with some surprises for co-owners John Havens and Aaron Mercier. Their vegetarian dishes are already among the best-selling, and guests have been favoring their cocktails over the 10 local brews on tap. People are also more apt to pass up a table for a seat at the bar, which Havens said is the most inviting part of the small restaurant.
