I am a recent grad thinking of accepting a position in Brecksville. I do not know anyone in the area and through searching I think Lakewood would be a good place for me to meet people around my age and have a decent night life. How bad would the commute be from Lakewood to say Miller Road off 77? I will need to be at work between 7:30 and 8:30 and leaving no later than 5:00. Additionally, any suggestions for apartments in Lakewood? Or some other place? Thanks

I live in Lakewood and commute to Valley View every day, which is just a couple miles north of Brecksville.  It's a fairly easy commute since you're generally going the opposite direction of most rush hour traffic aside from the stretch on 90, which is sometimes backed up.  I work weird hours so I rarely hit rush hour traffic, I usually get to work in 20-25 minutes.  Since you'll be driving during rush hour, you would need to give yourself at least a half hour in case of a backup on 90.

I have personal experience with some of the rental places in Lakewood and could tell you some places to avoid, feel free to IM me, I don't want to badmouth any companies publicly on this board.  I like my building and my neighborhood alot (Clifton near 117th), I would recommend it.  If you give us some more details about what amenities you are looking for and what is most important to you, price range, etc. we can probably make some recommendations of places you might want to look at.  Welcome!

You may also consider Ohio City or Tremont.  They get you what you say you are looking for, but are a bit closer to I-77, and thus Brecksville.  Both are nice walkable neighborhoods with some nightlife.  Do a search on here to find more information, or ask and we can answer questions.
