UncleRando's photos reminded me of the few photos I took when I was in Tampa earlier this year.  Nothing spectacular, but are meant to emphasize my comments in Unc's photo.

Most of the pictures were taken in late afternoon and there seems to be very few people just out and about in ybor or the dowtown business district, downtown even channelside seemed void of activity in the morning & afternoon.

We arrive in Ybor city....finally. As I mentioned before the majority of the rail line is run in single track, operation.

There is something about this Arch I really like, but don't know what it is.  I think It would be cool in the Stonebridge Area

The art on the street ties in with the area's history as Ybor was one of the largest producers of rolled cuban cigars in the country.

I loved the tile work on this building, it was spectacular.  My pictures don't do it justice.

I stop off at channelside to grab a bite to eat.  Thai Thaini was great!  Good food.

The Tampa trolley system seems to do about everything wrong when it comes to creating a good trolley and/or streetcar system.  The single tracks and elevated loading platforms make absolutely no sense at all.

The university is gorgeous...I wish I could have gotten some photos of it (drove past too fast on my way to get the heck out of Tampa).

did you go to the "historic" Columbia Restaurant (Spanish & Cuban)? I remember the branch in Sarasota. Mediocre food, this place gets by on its hundred year old reputation!

Nope.  It didn't look appealing and as I was passing a few people we commenting they only go for drinks, not to eat.

Thanks.

That's my kind of town!

you are better off getting your Cuban and South American on "Boliche Blvd" (Columbus ave). Yum!
