July 25, 200816 yr We drove from the Avenue to go to dinner at GLBC last night (and had dinner at Zocalo on Tuesday night)...... I concur with your analysis. Tons of people out and about!
July 25, 200816 yr something has definitely been happening lately. I have no idea why, but I've seen more people consitently out and about downtown in the last month or so than I ever remember in my 5+ years living down here.
July 25, 200816 yr Those were seriously some of your best MayDay!! I especially like the ones of Key and Marriott when you were talking about how much you love your commute. And the one of the 3 boxy buildings (Erieview being one of them) is a view I don't think has ever been shown on a thread. Awesome!!!!
July 25, 200816 yr Also, I love that lst photo with Huntingtons pillars. They look to be simply resting on the sidewalk, like "man, this is a heavy building to hold up".
July 25, 200816 yr I was trying to figure out why the traffic seemed messed up in this one. Then it finally hit me as I read the bottom. Great shot!

July 25, 200816 yr I usually ignore your music selections when looking at your photos, but this one wasn't bad ;)
July 26, 200816 yr Interesting with the "east meets west." "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
August 1, 200816 yr GREAT PICS!!!!! One thing I've noticed just the past two years....people walking their dogs downtown. I may be wrong, but I've never seen so many dog walkers. But I think the number of people walking dogs is representative of the livability of a community. something has definitely been happening lately. August 1, 200816 yr ^ I think it depends on the time of day. Last year a took a walk around downtown on a Saturday morning and I saw people walking dogs everywhere.
August 1, 200816 yr I usually see at least 2 people walking dogs every day on my lunch break around gateway, east 4th, and euclid.
August 1, 200816 yr Usually it's the dogs first, strollers next! Hurry Cleveland, ban strollers like the Wynn did in Las Vegas before its too late!!
August 1, 200816 yr Usually it's the dogs first, strollers next! Hurry Cleveland, ban strollers like the Wynn did in Las Vegas before its too late!! LMAO! No. I don't have any kids but it shows the vibrancy and livable age range of a neighborhood. More pre-teen, teen and family oriented activities so that TODAY'S kids don't grow up with the mindset that downtown or the city proper is "dead".

I bet there are a solid 20 dogs in the building... one 20 pound odd looking black furry creature with ears the size of a sailboat may or may not be mine.

Im only 22 but i work and go to school downtown so i have the chance to see how lively downtown is on a daily basis. Unfortunately just about every one of my friends from the burbs dont see it that way though, regardless of what i tell them almost every time were together. Dogs, strollers, walkers, joggers, people playing frisbee are only boosting the image of the city
August 7, 200816 yr This is a fantastic collection of photos...and over a lunch hour makes it even more impressive.
