and if you intend to go to court, I would check first what Ohio's residency laws are with out of state licenses.

Wow, Ohio dosen't mess around, I thought Florida was tough. It is 30 days:

funny I had a CH Police officer flat out tell me its 6 months.

I haven't read all the posts so I apologize if it's a repeat.  Since going that much over the speed limit (in a 25 mph zone) is clearly your fault, it is not something you will win with IF the cop shows up.  But taking it to court regardless will help.  I'm going to assume this is the same for Ohio as Michigan.  But if you decide to fight it, those points may not gone onto your license until after the decision is made in court (that's only if you mail in the form wishing to contest it).  Court schedulings can take awhile, and depending on where you got it, they might let you pick the day.

It helped me.  My insurance did not go up after getting a couple tickets because I pushed one of them until after my renewal.

I had stupid tickets though.... like no left turn or no right on red.  I did get a speeding ticket though once.  101 mph in a 70 (I was in high school)  The cop gave me a break because the average speed of traffic at the time was 90 mph and I was passing someone before the lane ended.  I was ticked, but he actually gave a nod when he said I could contest it.  Never showed up, and the ticket he gave me said I was doing 75 just in case.

Those speed demon days are in the past.  I don't think I've broken 81 mph in 4 years.

Another corrupt police officer and judge!

Ohio Appeals Court: No Speeding Tickets for Fast Sounding Cars

Ohio Court of Appeals rules that a police officer cannot issue a speeding ticket because a car sounds fast.

Judge Donna J. CarrThe Ohio Court of Appeals on Monday ruled that a motorist cannot be convicted of speeding based solely on how fast his car may have sounded. On October 18, 2007, Patrolman Ken Roth ticketed Daniel Freitag in the village of West Salem as Freitag was driving with his wife Jane on US Route 42. Roth claimed his radar unit clocked Freitag at 42 MPH in a 35 zone. Roth also claimed he could hear Freitag's 2006 Lincoln Navigator speeding.

"As it approached I could hear the vehicle on the roadway which based on my training and experience it is consistent with a vehicle that was in excess of the posted speed limit," Roth testified.

See the link above for the remainder.

Miscarriage of justice - apparently so.  But corrupt?  Really?

Not necessarily corrupt, but you can't base a conviction on something that shaky. There is no concrete data to something as vague as "the car sounded like it was going over 35" versus "I clocked the vehicle on my radar gun driving 45MPH in a 35 MPH zone, and oh, here is proof of my radar gun operator training, which is valid until XX date."

Also, in Ohio, there are things such as prima facie speed limits. You'd need to have some technical background to be able to convince a judge that the speed you were driving was a prima facie speed.

If i was emporer of the world I would ban cops from issuing speeding stickets. I got one here a while back but never paid it or showed up to the court date. Got a friend who works for a local PD to look up my record but no warrants were issued yet. Jersey cops are notorious for handing out tickets. If it wasn't for a military ID I would've lost my driving privileges a long time ago!

Don't worry a bench warrant will be issued eventually.  They won't come looking for you but if you are stopped for any reason they will arrest you immediately and impound your car if nobody is around to drive it.
