Alright, when I first heard BG was showing "Batman: Dark Knight" for $2.25, I thought I was being bullsh!tted. I mean, isn't that what people paid for movies when "Jaws" first came out? Well, it's no joke, BG's Woodland Mall is showing first-run movies for $2.25 before 6pm! And on Thursday nights, it's still only $2.25 for college students with ID. I don't think there's any theater cheaper in Ohio to see new movies.

BTW, "Dark Knight" will knock your socks off, and it's quite dark and political for a Hollywood blockbuster. It completely parallels the "war on terror" and plays on our terrorist fears. Thematically, the main argument is that heroes sometimes attract more bad guys to society, making them even worse and more brutal, and sometimes the good guys do bad things for "the greater good". The Batman world does not operate in black and white. There are many shades of political arguments in this film. And I actually think it deserved an R rating instead of PG-13. There was no sex and not much vulgar language, but it's got some very disturbing themes and is extremely violent for PG-13 (probably the most violent PG-13 movie ever released). It just goes to show that America has far more tolerance for violence than for sex and "vulgar" language. I never thought I'd say this about a PG-13 movie, but "Dark Knight" might be too much for 13-year-olds to handle or fully comprehend. This really is an adult film, which makes if quite different from other comic book adaptations.

I'd say it's by far the best comic book movie ever made. Nothing comes close, and all the hype about Heath Ledger is more than worth it. Ledger will make you laugh and tremble at the same time. The guy deserves an Oscar, period. I was blown away. In fact, I want this thing to win best picture at the 2009 Oscars.

And there are many great shots of Chicago, including a scene involving a classic lake freighter!

I agree. Everything about the Dark Knight is awesome. My favorite summer movie this year by far. It's amazing in every way.

Did you see it IMAX.  That would blow your socks off.  There were scenes shot in HD that are amazing.  If you liked it in theatres, the DVD release is going blow you away!

That BG theater is cheaper than any other places matinee when they run their normal price alone ($4.25). It's more precious than almost all the bars and clubs there.

See it in IMAX.  If you think it was viewed long, approx. 20 minutes was shaved off.

There were lots of things/buildings you kids have taken pictures of.

dear diary...
