The company, which manufactures sensors, scientific instruments and systems for cryogenic and magnetic applications, is adding approximately 42,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 10,000 square feet of office space to its existing 59,000-square-foot facility at 575 McCorkle Blvd. Lake Shore will also construct a new 2,500-square-foot clean room within its existing manufacturing facility. The clean room will be used for microelectronic development, as well as sensor wafer fabrication and packaging. August 4, 20231 yr Adventure Coming to Westerville: New Park Slated for 2025 A new “adventurous” experience designed for all ages is coming to Westerville, and it could be a “crown jewel” for the region. Edge Adventure Park, scheduled to open in 2025, will be located within a 10.5-acre wooded ravine between Vesper Way and Cleveland Avenue. It remains in the conceptual phase, with many details still fluid. The city of Westerville is putting up $2 million with an additional $300,000 coming from a state grant. Westerville leaders are targeting bidding for next summer, with construction commencing that fall. The park should be open in the spring or early summer of 2025. “That’s very fluid, it can accelerate, depending on how fast we can pull things together, but our goal is to have it open in 2025,” Randy Auler, the city’s director of Parks & Recreation, said. March 6, 20241 yr Pickleball-anchored sports and entertainment venue coming to Westerville "Smash Park Entertainment Group, an Iowa-based company with multiple locations in the Midwest, will build its newest facility at the southeast corner of Polaris Parkway and Cleveland Avenue. It will be located within Westerville's Westar Place district, which the city has prioritized for new amenities to serve nearby businesses and activate the area throughout the week. To facilitate its development, Westerville City Council on Tuesday approved a real estate purchase agreement with Smash Park for the 3.3-acre parcel the facility will be built on. The city-owned property will be sold for $560,000 per acre, which equates to nearly $1.85 million. With the purchase agreement in place, the project now heads to the Westerville Planning Commission for approval of a final development plan. Smash Park, which describes itself as an "eatertainment destination," will be a nearly 50,000-square-foot venue with pickleball courts, duckpin bowling, private karaoke suites and axe throwing. September 28, 2024Sep 28 Westerville City Hall to Get Major Facelift Westerville’s City Hall is about to get its first renovation in approximately 40 years. The city is mounting an ambitious modernization project that will transform its municipal complex into a centralized hub of services. Construction could begin in December and wrap up by late 2025 or early 2026. It’s a sorely needed update, as the building hasn’t enjoyed a renovation since the 1980s, back when Ronald Reagan was president. May 5May 5 Already pretty big changes at the 88-acre East of Africa Road project site that the city of Westerville kicked off last week.A little bit about the East of Africa Road project..."In addition to future businesses, one roundabout, two miles of new roads and park-like retention ponds will run through what are now fields. Westar Boulevard and Hoff Road will also be extended. The tree canopy will be preserved, with bike paths added. East of Africa Road will be bordered to the east by the Ashton Village, Berkshire Commons and Courtyards of Village Crossing subdivisions. There are five subareas to East of Africa Road."
