Delicious.

I thought the name sounded familiar, then I saw the light - or lights. That's the place that's lit up like a carpet of tiny light bulbs at Christmastime, isn't it?

I think someone posted a photo thread of it on UO once.

yes. i've never seen so many lights. no way they could take them down and put them up every year!

This place changed ownership and they do not operate the mill anymore.  They buy cornmeal from a factory and package it.  I had a terrible experience there last year, waiting an hour to get food.  Seemed kinda decrepit too.

If you are there, hop over to US-68 turn right, go for a mile or two and check out Young's Jersey Dairy

aww man that's a shame. they sure pass it off like they still do make the flour in there, even on the website. bummer.

regardless, the pancakes were great. ridiculous, but very tasty.

i didnt find the place decrepit at all, and per the 1st photo they seem to be taking care of it ok.

we did have to wait too, but you can walk around or sit outside on rockers in front of the water wheel so not so bad.

i'd definately still give it two thumbs up --- at least for pancakes!

edit: yes, for sure check out young's too. they dont serve raw milk anymore, but it's still good stuff. another great, great place for families. here's the website info:

breakfast at clifton mill is one of my favorite things!!! always delicious in a beautiful setting. . .I love going in the fall

Ps. . I was always under the impression that they ground on site too for their pancakes

I'm beginning to think mrnyc visits Ohio just to eat.
