February 16, 20232 yr Covid caused Covington bar Boars Room to go members-only The Covid-19 pandemic changed how most hospitality businesses interacted with the public, from offering to-go cocktails to plexiglass barriers or reservation systems for bar seats. And one Northern Kentucky bar decided to stop serving the public altogether. In 2017, Dr. Marcus Lehman and Kyle Frye, two health care industry professionals in Cincinnati, acquired a small Covington bar called Earl's Boardega at 1301 Holman St. After buying the bar, they continued to operate it as much as it was as a neighborhood spot, just beefing up the bourbon selection with more rare and sought-after bottles. Their goal was to create a physical space that filled the same kind of role as online "juice clubs," or groups dedicated to seeking out, talking about and trading rare bottles of bourbon.
