Posted August 10, 200816 yr This morning was the first cool morning of late summer, with temps in the 50s. So at 8 a.m. I went down to the Canal Way Center off East 49th Street in Cuyahoga Heights. The woods smelled fantastically fresh after last night's storms. Here's some photos around the Towpath Trail below the railroad bridge which carries about 60 CSX Corp. freight trains per day between eastern cities like New York City and Boston and midwestern cities like Chicago, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Columbus and Cincinnati. There are four other bridges over the Ohio & Erie Canal and Cuyahoga River in this small area, including a footbridge, a driveway for a local business and two sewer interceptors... I later made my way down to Akron where I took a picture of a Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railway train leaving Akron for Canton: And here's some transit-oriented development. The new North Side Lofts were built across the street from the CVSR Akron Northside Station (http://www.northsidelofts.com/ ). This is where Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Chrissie Hynde opened her new restaurant, The VegiTerranean: So there!
