So how does it benefit from Columbus' sprawl?  You gave the great intro line, but didn't really follow up.

Pretty cute, looks affluent.

What's up with the mix-and-match angle parking? Some are backed in, and some are nosed in.

A city that would have otherwise been vacated and left to deteriorate (much like many other small rural towns in Ohio) has seen new residents, investment, and activity. The drawback is the standard sprawl (big boxes and vinyl shacks) that now surrounds the historic core (ie. Lebanon or Medina).

Those that backed in were involved in the market; I suppose the rest were shoppers.

^Honestly, Canal Winchester is even worse than Medina or Lebanon. It's absolutely disgusting, the Wal*Mart is the most sprawltastic one I've ever seen in my life and the main drag (I can't recall the name) is atrocious.

another example of sprawl's many benefits

The town of Canal Winchester certainly benefited from Columbus' sprawl (as did Delaware and Granville).  It is a shame the region around it is quite...disgustingly sprawly.  Great job.

and I still have no idea who oley speaks is.

I just want to give that little train station a hug.  Thanks for the photos

Oley was the 5th Beatle.

i was about to say. i can think of a lot of burgs nearby that benefitted from columbus sprawl. dublin, which was a cornfield until the 80's, westerville, new albany, on and on. same for any other sprawltactular big city, which is to say most cities.

anyway, nice to see canal winchester today. come to think of it i have a shoestring relative living in cw now.
