July 1, 20231 yr i understand the cavs are going for the best available and applaud that, but its very concerning both these guys are serious d liabilities. also, on my nba forum muh philly fans laid into niang for me lol: 😂 In Philly..While Niang is a tough dude who works hard, because of his lack of athletic ability on defense, his primary value is shooting 3s. His overall percentage looks great, but he was a very streaky shooter who sometimes disappeared in the playoffs. Cav fans will love his attitude, he gets the very most out of his talent. When hot he would chuck and hit without reservation. “ sometimes disappeared in the playoffs “ ? Oh my fellow Sixers , beer friend you are being too kind . Good bench guy for regular season who is sturdy and can put up some points from deep . Totally unplayable , worthless during playoffs , as things tighten up on both ends due to as you mentioned, lack of athletic ability . 1. Cant guard ANYONE as the playoff intensity ratchets up 2. Can’t get his shots off as the playoff defensive intensity ratchets up But , if I were the Sixers , I would have tried to keep him . Sixers are a regular season team . He fits right in . Other than that . Have a cold one .
July 1, 20231 yr Great to see them beef up their outside shooting, the lack of which killed them in their "appearance" in the playoffs. Question is, can JB mix them and get the chemistry right. October 25, 20231 yr i think the Land is not as bad as people are making it out. Professional athletes and Pop culture folks have adopted in and openly refer to Cleveland as the Land. Just because some random people dont like it doesnt mean it doesnt play. From a marketing perspective, if people that are celebrities are using it...thats a heck of alot more powerful than you or I's opinion of it.
October 25, 20231 yr On another note, the Cavs season begins tonight. I think the past two seasons they fell one step short of where i thought they should be (and probably should have been). Two years ago, you would like to see them get out of the play-in round and into a 7 game series. They fell short by losing a home game they blew. Last year, they got out toughed by a KNicks team with inferior talent. You wanted to get to the Eastern Semis last year and that wouldve been on track. So this year, i think you need to get back on track and be shooting for the ECF...and they can. They have an all NBA candidate in scorer, plenty of shooting, and good interior defense. Mark my words, whether they make the ECF or not will 100% depend (assuming no injuries) on Evan Mobleys ability to take the next step. This is year 3...he needs to be a dominant force at this point. I think many are thinking Tim Duncan potential with Evan and if that is going to come to fruition, needs to see a big leap this year. If they get that big leap, they can make the ECF.

October 25, 20231 yr Being local, I've gotten to watch quite a bit of Emoni, including his 43 pt performance against Toledo last season in person. He's got a complete different mindset than he had 2-3 years ago. He's finally buying into a system, which was a big reason for him not having a ton of success in college. He was called uncoachable. The kid can play! Give him Dean Wade's spot

C-town came from Jim Rome, who was super popular in this area around the turn of the millennium. @E Rocc@math Unless Jim Rome mentioned “C-Town” before ‘92, I’d say that’s incorrect. Bone were not the first rappers from Cleveland, but they were definitely the most well known. MC Brains (I want to say he was from Glenville as well) mentioned “C-Town” in his album in ‘92 while Bone was still an underground group. I wouldn’t discount Hip-Hop culture (including Bone or any of the other local groups back then) as being reflective of local slang, especially in the early to mid 90s. Hip-Hop (and slang) was extremely regionalized, which was part of the reason Bone sounded so unique when they came out. Now, every rapper sounds like Bone. The NBA has been commercializing off of Hip-Hop for a while now. I don’t think anyone would argue against that. “The Land”, again, goes back 30 years. It would either be “The Land”, or “C-Town” on the Cavs jerseys and at this point (probably because of MGK in part, again, Hip-Hop), the Cavs chose The Land. And don’t tell me I’m the only person who heard “The Land” outside of a rap album being played in the 90s here… or at least I would hope 😄. Bone definitely made the use of “C-Town” and “The Land” more known- but then again, that’s another topic. Edited October 25, 20231 yr by Oldmanladyluck
