November 29, 200816 yr yeah, those were quite a shock from the classic wine&gold. but there were a spate of ugly uni's around that time. remember the oakland raiders inspired black uniform trend too in football? just as dum. best uni's ever? besides the "miracle of richfield" era wine&gold, my favorite cle sports team ever, i'd give the nod to the early 60's san diego chargers: Ahhhh the charger uniforms? ew..not so much. Not only do they have one of the most ridiculous team names, their (current and previous) uniforms are hateful and unflattering. I'm beginning to worry about you. :? Back on topic kids.......
November 29, 200816 yr Lets start a uniform fashion thread! haha ANdrea...I don't think that will be a good idea. Although, some of you need it. :-P
November 29, 200816 yr So how 'bout those Cavs?!?!?! 9-0 at home to start the season. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
November 29, 200816 yr “He’s stupid. That’s all I’ve got to say about that,” James said Friday night before the Cavaliers’ game against Golden State. ^ After I just got done saying how impressed I was with Lebron's level of maturity, he pulls this stunt. Barkley didn't even insult him, and quite honestly wasn't wrong. BTW, Thanks mrnyc; I totally forgot about the Crunch. I remembered the Force always coming up just short to the Baltimore Blast in the 80's.

November 29, 200816 yr I'm nervous how well we're playing combined with the fact that Barkley picked us to win the East..
November 30, 200816 yr sluggish yeah....but all the more impressive given this was a tough & tiring back to back win! James leads sluggish Cavaliers to victory Posted Nov 29 2008 11:55PM MILWAUKEE(AP) LeBron James expects his team to look to him late in close games. The Cleveland Cavaliers certainly did Saturday night. James scored 11 straight points for Cleveland late in the fourth quarter and finished with 32 in the Cavaliers' 97-85 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. more: http://www.nba.com/games/20081129/CLEMIL/recap.html
November 30, 200816 yr a "w" is a "w". The cavs are beating all the teams they are suppose to beat. in the past they haven't always done that.
December 2, 200816 yr Ahhhh the charger uniforms? ew..not so much. Not only do they have one of the most ridiculous team names, their (current and previous) uniforms are hateful and unflattering. :wtf:
December 10, 200816 yr They are just MAULING teams right now. Nationally televised game tonight vs. the 76ers.
December 10, 200816 yr They are just MAULING teams right now. Nationally televised game tonight vs. the 76ers. Too bad it is on a back to back night. Still, doesn't feel anything can stop these guys. This week's schedule is ridiculous: Tuesday in Cleveland, fly to Phil after the game. Wed in Phil, fly to CLE after the game. Thursday off. Friday in CLE, fly to ATL after the game. Sure wish they would have had the ATL game on Friday. Those boys are going to be tired. Glad to see the starters getting so much rest this season.

It's great to see LeBron being #48 in minutes and their record is what it is.
December 10, 200816 yr I read Boobie will be out for two weeks with a toe injury. It's nice they have depth in the guards this year so it won't hurt too much. He has been putting up like 10 ppg though coming off the bench.
December 10, 200816 yr ^ oh no i didnt know about that. aww dayum i really like to watch his game. heal fast boobie! winning b2b games in the nba is most impressive. lets hope they can do it 2it 2nite -- go cavs!
December 15, 200816 yr Tough loss on Saturday. I hate the back to back games but they need to start winning some of those tough ones on the road. I can't find any update on Big Z's status. Anyone hear how long he'll be out?
December 16, 200816 yr Someone asked that question on Bruce Drennan's show yesterday and he said there is no official word other than Z is day to day. Hope it's soon rather than later, the Cavs really missed his mid range shot in Atl.
December 17, 200816 yr Follow up, from http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3774383 Tuesday, December 16, 2008 Ilgauskas out of boot, not ready -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Associated Press CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers starting center Zydrunas Ilgauskas is out of the walking boot, but he's not quite ready to get back into Cleveland's lineup.
December 20, 200816 yr Great game last night.........If only we had Lee Nailon as a staple this year.
December 23, 200816 yr I've been amazed with the Cavs this season. Not only are they beating teams they should, but the have been destroying them. I'm anxiously awaiting January. So far, my only concern has been with who they have played. Yes, they are destroying the bad teams. But they are also losing to the better teams. I can justify Boston and N.O. since it was within the 1st 3 games of the year. But Detroit and Atlanta...needed to get those. Outside of that, we beat Dallas when they were playing poorly and Utah w/o Williams. Quality wins over Denver...and well, that's kind of it. Meanwhile, January has 8 of 14 games on the road, including a rough west coast trip against the Lakers, Portland, Golden St, and Utah. They face the other top 2 east teams in Boston (home) and Orlando (road). If the Cavs can come out of that month 12-2 or better, then I'll be really impressed. Wins over Boston, LA, and Orlando even if they go 11-3 or 10-4 and I'll still be really impressed.

The teams near .500 are there becuase they beat teams worse than them. I think the team is solid and the way they've been rotating the line up, to me, ensure that we can send a mix of looks to the floor AND that the team doesn't get burned out come playoff time.

If you are going to mention DWill being out, you should also take note that Big Z and Gibson were out the game we lost to the Hawks and we only lost that game because Joe Johnson was unconscious in the 4th quarter. Anyways, we do have some quality wins. Rockets are a great team, not just good. We have blown out a VERY good Denver team twice. We did beat the Hawks the other game we played them. But you are right, this January schedule we are about to get into will really show whether we are truly a threat to win 70. Either way, we have proven to be an elite team and I would be shocked if we don't pass up the previous team record of 57 wins.
January 8, 200916 yr The Cavs blowout CLT. CLT just beat Boston. Cavs play Boston next. On the line, Eastern Conference supremacy and the Cavs home court wining streak. This should be a damn good game!!!! Lets hope the Cavs shut them down on national TV.
January 8, 200916 yr I was at the game last night and saw exactly what I wanted in the game leading up to the big match up with the Celtics - total dominaiton of a lower tier team, nice contributions from many people - Wally, Gibson, Mo, Andy, JJ. I don't think I've ever been more excited for a regular season game than I am for Friday!
January 8, 200916 yr The crowd is going to be on fire. Unfortunately I will be on a bus to chicago, so i guess all i can do is get updates. This game scares me now. If the cavs and celtics were both on winning streaks and were two freigth trains, I would actually like the acvs chances better. This Boston team is looking for anything to rally around, and I can see them playing really inspired ball. Im not saying the cavs wont be prepared for it, but even as AWFUL as Boston has played, you dont want to give Boston a chance...kick them while they are down and run out to a quick 20 point lead in the first half.
January 10, 200916 yr The Celts go down again. This game was there 10 consecutive loss in the Gund/Q. The Celts have lost the last 7-10 games. We're still perfect at home!!! The celts looked ready to play in the first, but then lost all intensity. This game really means nothing, but gives us the upper hand for Home Court in the Playoffs. The next two games are at Memphis and Chicago. I hope the Cavs can keep the pressure up and stay focused and not lose to two teams the Cavs are expected to beat. The Grizzlies and Bulls would love to beat the best team in the Eastern Conference. Also, to win by 20 without Z is the bigger story. The inexperienced and role players gain valuable experience. This win should melt some of the snow coming down right now. I bet folks will stay downtown and party and not rush straight home.
January 10, 200916 yr i watched -- awesome game. the celts were scratching their heads the whole time. they are in a bad slump. i just laughed. lebron was smiling and all chatty with the reporter at the end, he wasnt even tired.
January 14, 200916 yr January=Gut check month. We have Orlando, New Orleans as well as a tough west coast trip with LA, Portland, Utah. As hard as we worked to get to 30-6, we could easily double our loss total by the end of the month. I dont think it is going to happen, but if you make it through January with only two more losses, I think you have to say we have the best look at home court advantage. Still a long way to go. Last night a nice win without two starters...Lebron did his thing when he had to...I still dont know why Sasha sits so much, and why Wally plays so much...but i will assume they are trying to show him off for the trade deadline.

Because sasha sucks! You think they will trade Wally and why?
January 14, 200916 yr ^ Yes, I think they will, the team is playing well, but Wally isn't shooting the lights out, and that makes his contract worth that much more.
January 14, 200916 yr ^ Yes, I think they will, the team is playing well, but Wally isn't shooting the lights out, and that makes his contract worth that much more. With Mo williams, Delonte West as true guards and Boobie of the bench. You don't need sasha or Wally to shoot the lights out every night. LeBron is going to play every game and with Side Show Bob Andy, Ben and JJ playing more while Z is out, the rotation seems better and that will help come playoff time, unless the Cavs do a "METS" and self implode. I think Sasha is the odd man out.
January 14, 200916 yr I think Wally will be gone before the deadline. Wally is a great guy and a hard worker, but we could get one more valuable big man. Wally's best days are behind them and they are talking about Brad Miller from Sacramento being a part of a Wally trade. He would be a proven former all-star to back up in the frontcourt (Although Hickson is starting to impress me big time)
January 14, 200916 yr I would like to see the cavs get something for Wally. I'm just worried about messing up the cavs chemistry. Right now everyone's on the same page of knowing their role and rotation. Bringing in a new guy to the mix could ruin that. Most NBA scouts are saying the cavs can win it all with this roster.

I'm in Oxford and :love Wally, but he simply isn't getting it done on defense and really isn't supplying much offense. Good dude, but the Cavs have to win it this year. BTW, Lebron in GQ this month. Hawt.
January 14, 200916 yr The chemistry is going to be good if they keep or get rid of wally, i mean, seriously do you think lebron rolls his eyes when wally goes 2-10 from the field...yet he still treats him like a teammate and passes to him. Wally or no Wally, Lebron wont let this team get disurpted.

Wally or no Wally, Lebron wont let this team get disurpted. We'll see how things are after this west coast road trip. This will tell us exactly how tough the team is a whole and how bad they want the Central crown and the No.1 seed for the playoffs. Thu 15 @ Chicago - Will win, the bulls have lost 2 in a row Fri 16 vs New Orleans - Should win, the hornets are inconsistant and haven't been dominating at home Mon 19 @ LA Lakers - I can't call, but should be a great game Wed 21 @ Portland - should win Fri 23 @ Golden State - will win Sat 24 @ Utah - Wil win Tue 27 vs Sacramento - will win Thu 29 @ Orlando - I can't call Fri 30 vs LA Clippers - will winn The western teams have been inconsistent, but then again they are playing at a higher level than EC teams.
January 15, 200916 yr We have a very tough schedule ahead of us. The first half of our schedule has been chock full of the league's cupcakes. While we are a very very good team, we are bound to experience many more hiccups during the next few months.
January 16, 200916 yr The problem is, when you are THIS good...every team with the exception of about 7 or 8 are considered cupcakes. Hard to not play cupcakes
January 18, 200916 yr im so happy the cavs are getting so much airtime! i watched the whole hornets game and they dommminnaated! it was awesome. take it inside and then when they doubled up on lebron or crashed we just kicked it out and hit the 3. the energy, ball movement and rebounding on both ends were all most impressive. the wtf look on chris paul's face all night was priceless, esp in the second half with the crazy cavs lineup and hustle. photos http://photos.cleveland.com/gallery/4501/Cleveland%20Cavaliers%20vs.%20New%20Orleans%20Hornets/slideshow downside was that delonte west's wrist looked terrible. ugh.

What happened with CP3? I went out for a minute and came back he was ejected. Delonte West looks like he got into a fight, a broken wrist and stitches. Oy!
January 20, 200916 yr this lakers game proves we're going to need all our guys healthy and ready if we are gonna win it all. get well soon delonte and big z...and lebron too from the flu & that tricep/funny bone injury thing! http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=nba/news/news.aspx?id=4204981
January 20, 200916 yr I think the Lakers game showed that Wally will be gone within a month.. they need another big man, especially one who is physical.
January 21, 200916 yr Wally is going to be gone. I heard they offered Brad Miller straight up for Wally, and Ferry declined as of now...saying he wants Mike Miller. He may revisit Brad though.
