  • massive team effort & big win on espn vs okc tonight — awesome game and superb coaching and substitutions — anyway, i watched most of it out, but the end back at our dystopian atlanta hotel - 😂🎉

  • Great win! Six-and-one!! Great to see Garland and Mitchell together for a full game. Those two are going to be magical as they play together more.

Got the W...after this road trip, we settle home for 8 out of the next 9...we are 2.5 games up on Boston and are staring the number 1 seed in the eye...unless there is a huge breakdown, we should be looking at home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

We got the "w" and the central title.  But how in the world did we do it???  :wtf:

Again, we played poor for 3 quarters then woke up with a few min. left in 3rd qtr.

We did play really bad against a really bad team...but getting the W shows how resilient and makes our case that we are a contender...non-contenders lose this game! Central division champs!!!

There is something going on.  We don't see to be able to get "started" in games lately or keep the score under 100 points.

They need to address that NOW!

Yeah.  I don't want them falling into the trap that they can just "turn it on" when they need to and get the win.  That will not happen against good teams.

OH and what about Mr. Brown getting tossed?  If he showed that type of intensity EVERY GAME I would like him more.

I really like Mike Brown- every time he gets a technical its a $1000 fine...and every time he blows up at the refs its more...he has been paying fines all season in order to stick up for his players...you have to admire that...the players love that knowing their coach has his back.  When guys like Mo and Lebron are on a team, you have to make sure that all of the aspects of the organization are quality and Dan Gilbert has done that.

I love it.  I love a guy that blows a gasket for a legit reason.

All that and rockin' the powder blue suit too!!  Great west coast trip Cavs!

Now the Cavs must whip the Sknickerbockers today, so I can gloat at work tomorrow!

i glanced at this today:

the cavs are 52-13, so they need just 6 more wins (17 game left) to top 1988-1989's & 1991-1992's best ever season record of 57-25.

The Cavs win and Milwaukee beats the Celts!  Yes!!!   We're 3.5 games up .  Thats a nice cushion.  Let win the next 5 and we should be good to go.

An interesting business move by Lebron.  I suppose it may help spread James's name/popularity, especially in a Kobe dominated area of the country...

LeBron James Moves Cleveland Youth Basketball Camp to San Diego

Submitted by Leader Staff on March 17, 2009 - 11:47am.

Perhaps it is another sign that LeBron James is loosening his ties with Cleveland in anticipation of packing up to play with a new team in 2010.  The Cleveland Cavaliers' star has switched his five-day $650 summer basketball camp, which has traditionally been held in Cleveland, to San Diego this year.  Locals are understandably upset, and the move has elicited calls and letters from numerous disappointed parents.

Co-Director of LeBron James King's Academy Damon Haley said that the move was merely meant to give West Coast kids a shot.  Financially the move makes sense.  The area has a deep pool of basketball talent, as well as plenty of weathy parents that wouldn't bat an eye at the $650 fee during these tough economic times.  But it's still a slap in the face to the city that has supported him all these years.  Rumors that James will leave the Cavaliers in 2010 have persisted, and little moves like this just can't help but make you wonder.

I heard Lebron was seen this afternoon eating a cheesestake hoagie and soft pretzel.  This leads me to believe that he is going to sign with Philadelphia in 2010.

Best game of the season tonight IMO.  Both teams played well.  Cavs gutted it out.

Ummmmmmm.  well how about that W tonight??

Hopefully our friends the Bulls can beat the Celts.

The Bulls did us a BIG FAVOR!

KStay2, what is our magic number to secure HC advantage throughout the playoffs?

Bulls won.  4 1/2 up on the Celts and 5 up on the Magic.  With 15 games to go, home court throughout the East is all but locked up.  Sixers are tied with the Lakers at the half.  LA holds the tie breaker with us so we got to better them in the W-L column to secure homecourt in the finals.

cavs win.  Celtics lose, lakers lose.  With the weather yesterday, was yesterday too good to be true?

Miami & Boston go to Overtime.

Miami has the best OT record in the League, can they pull this off?

The Heat could be underrated going into the playoff's as D Wade is not playing and they've gone toe-to-toe with the Celts.

The Celts pulled it off.  Hell of an effort from Miami though.

Chances are we will either be playing Atlanta or Miami in the second round.  I don't like either matchup.  Neither are likely to be swept and could wear us down a bit.  Luckily Orlando and Boston should be beating up on each other at the same time.

Im not too worried about Boston anymore.  Im more worried about the lakers...we have 10 of our last 15 games at home...we just have to hold home court and we will be fine.  Boston has to come here, go to orlando and go to San Antonio again.  That lead is HUGE for what it has been all year before this.

I'm so excited!

KStay2, what is our magic number to secure HC advantage throughout the playoffs?

As of last night's win, it's 10.

Sorry for the delayed response, was on vacation most of this week.

How told you, you could take a vacation?  I didn't approve that!  :whip:

I have to use up my 2 remaining weeks from last year, then I have to get started on my 6 weeks (plus 2 personal days) for this year!  Do I have your permission?

I think you should donate those dates to AIG staffers.  LOL

Cavs are going for the franchise record tonight for WINS in one season.  Record (57-13) and they have 12 games remaining...8 of which are at home.

The Optimist

Mojn, y’all! I’ve been called an Optimist – and today I’m checking in from the suddenly-Spring-like shores of Great Lake Erie.  I’ll bet you’ve never seen the greeting – “Mojn!” – before.  That’s on accounta I just learnt it this weekend at the outstanding Cleveland Film Festival. It’s pronounced “moyn” and it was in a Danish movie called “Terribly Happy” about a rogue cop who gets banished to a strange, small town.  In this remote part of Denmark, it’s how they say both “hello” and “goodbye.”  Like “aloha” for Hawai’ians or “ciao” for people in southern California.

LeBron to appear on '60 Minutes'

Posted Mar 26 2009 5:11PM  CLEVELAND (AP) -- Tick ... Tick ... Tick ... LeBron James is set to appear on TV's most famous stopwatch.

Cleveland's superstar will be profiled on CBS' "60 Minutes" this Sunday in an interview he did a few months ago.  The 24-year-old, who has led the Cavaliers to the NBA's best record this season, sat down for the one-on-one with show contributor Steve Kroft.

The magazine show spent time at one of James' practices and filmed him at his Akron high school, as well as at a concert for President Obama he hosted at Quicken Loans Arena with rapper and close friend Jay-Z.  James' mother, Gloria, is also interviewed in the piece.

Good Question for the Forum Issues/Site Input Section of UO.

Good win for the Cavs.  The completely shut Dallas down in the 2nd half.  12 straight win and franchise record.

We went from 15 down to 30 up.  I thought the rebounding was amazing.  The defense really stepped up. It was like watching two different games.

Hickson looked really good out there!

I like how Mike is giving the Bench lots of minutes in the fourth quarter of many games.

Cuban looked completely disgusted.  8-)

Hickson looked as good as you can in 5 minutes?  Haha.

Brown is using his bench a lot in the 4th because so many of the games are total blowouts by then, no need to wear out your players or risk injury to stars.

You can't say that Hickson block wasn't nasty??

And I understand why the bench is coming in.  I think it's a good thing and gives them valuable time to build some chemistry with the playoff coming up.

First time to 60 wins in franchise history.

2 up on the Lakers and nearly locked into home court throughout the EC playoffs.  Home court through the East is essential but I am not sure that we are not better off starting out west should we make it to the finals.  The format changes at that point of the playoffs from a 2-2-1-1-1 format to a 2-3-2 format.  Suppose start the finals on the road, should we split the first two games, we could close it out here at home and not worry about having to travel again.  Of course, if I knew it was going to come down to game 7, I want it here.

12 in a row -- another new record !!

that wife-beater could not guard lebron.

also....joe smith! he's baaack & deserves a shoutout for the game.

detroit is the next victim tomorrow.

beautiful game last night... down 15 then win by over 20.. crazy.. when they turn up the heat it gets extreme.!!.

You can't say that Hickson block wasn't nasty??

I like Hickson.  He is uber-athletic and brings youthful energy to the court.  He can block shots and really cleans up around the basket.  However, he needs to be able to score in the post and/or facing up from 15 feet.  He can't be airballing 12 foot jump shots.  He has great potential, but I feel he is still at where Anderson was a couple years ago before he learned how to score a little bit.

Hickson has a ton of potential, but he needs to play smarter, but that comes with experience.

I am not sold on Hickson's mental capacity.  He might be another Drew Gooden or Leon Williams.  He will get better, but I am just not sure he has the brain power to maximize on his immense physical ability.  JMO.

I agree, I could hit those shots!  I say give him some time to see what happens, if he turns into another gooden, then we'll have to dump him.

He's way too young for me to make that sort of determination.  I'll give him a couple years, before I really decide what I think of him one way or another.  He's 19 with an unbelievable amount of physical ability. 2 years ago, he didn't have to think at all.  Just by stepping on the court he was always the best player in the gym.  Only one season of college ball.  I think it takes some time to truly understand all the schemes in place at the NBA level.  He's going to be made to look real stupid from being in the wrong place at the wrong time, more than occasionaly at this point.

I wasn't basing my, admittedly, prejudiced criticism solely on his on-court play.  I expect any 19 yr old to have mental lapses on the court.  My comments were based on hearing him talk basketball in interviews and what I have heard from a cousin of mine who covers ACC basketball.  Like I said, it is a pre-judgment and I certainly hope I am wrong, but that is just my feeling at this point and his play to date has done nothing to quell my concerns.

I agree, I could hit those shots! I say give him some time to see what happens, if he turns into another gooden, then we'll have to dump him.

If you're 6'5" or whatever and can hit those shots, I just might have a spot on my mens league team for you! :)
