April 15, 200916 yr For the umpteenth time, I do not think anyone is saying "go out there and sacrifice limbs for a W." Just saying, play the starters for at least the introductions, then get them out after a couple of minutes. And I still disagree on the theory that rest is always good. I would agree that it is probably the safer play, but I do not think the verdict is out on whether it helps or harms. Well...with basketball, considering it's a 7 game series, momentum is probably less important than in football. And even though baseball is 5 (then 7) game series, hitting is all about timing, and pitching is all about rhythm. Thus, maybe keeping everyone N'Sync (viva Justin, Joey, Lance, and Kris?) is more important for football and baseball, and not so important for hoops. I still think the crowd deserves to hear..."and from St. Vincent-St. Mary..." thank you!
April 16, 200916 yr The last game is fan appreciation night anyway...the fans wont be disappointed. ummmmm
April 16, 200916 yr FSN cut away at 11 here in Cincinnati, they were right at the time out. Did they get a decent shot off?
April 16, 200916 yr Who the heck cares.. we have the best record in the NBA.. we're the #1 seed.. lets win a championship.
April 16, 200916 yr LATE NEWS: Kevin Garnett may be out for the entire playoffs! Now if Kobe could just get a hangnail........ "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
April 16, 200916 yr Not sure how to take that. I was hoping that Boston could take care of Orlando for us.
April 16, 200916 yr RISE UP Cleveland! It is time. It always makes me happy we have an owner who is not cheap. Quicken Loans Arena gets playoffs make-over Updated: 4/16/2009 12:10:22 PM Posted: 4/16/2009 11:56:38 AM CLEVELAND -- If you pass by Quicken Loans Arena Thursday, you might notice some changes. Crews spent the day using cranes to hang banners and signs to celebrate the Cleveland Cavaliers bid to the NBA playoffs. The building-sized banners feature the wine and gold colors along with players pictures like Ben Wallace, Delonte West and others. April 16, 200916 yr THey need to hang jerseys on the terminal tower again like 2007. Also, they should light up the windows of the BP building every night to say GO CAVS...the air in this city needs to be thick with enthusiasm...i know it already is, but lets go as over the top as we can.
April 16, 200916 yr Have Joe Tait's broadcase airing all through downtown, similar to the propoganda machines pre WWII. Let's just build hysteria.
April 17, 200916 yr I'm going to be murdered on CPW. I can't help myself. Our teams are on point right now!
April 17, 200916 yr Off topic but interesting. Garnett may be out for the playoffs. I want to see the Cavs win and all teams at their best so there are no "if's", "and's" or "but's" as to why the Celts do not repeat. ;)
April 18, 200916 yr Looking at that sign the woman is holding up, I am curious if anyone has ever made a sign for a game? I never have. My buddy made one for the 95 series against the Braves. IIRC (just figured that one out), the games were broadcast on ABC. His sign said, "Always Better in Cleveland." We were in like 8th grade, and everyone thought it was pretty stupid.

I want to see the Cavs win and all teams at their best so there are no "if's", "and's" or "but's" as to why the Celts do not repeat. ;) I kinda thought like this at first. However, I would be happy if the whole team went down and Scalabrini (fellow paison) was the only one left. Paranoia that no Cleveland team that I care about (no, not the Crunch/Force) will ever win a championship is starting to creep in.
April 18, 200916 yr Garnett will not be out the entire playoffs if it comes to a Boston/Cleveland Matchup. Yes He's hurt but They are resting and saving him for Cleveland no doubt!
April 18, 200916 yr Garnett will not be out the entire playoffs if it comes to a Boston/Cleveland Matchup. Yes He's hurt but They are resting and saving him for Cleveland no doubt! There is a rumor he may have had a secret minor surgery. Looking at that sign the woman is holding up, I am curious if anyone has ever made a sign for a game? I never have. My buddy made one for the 95 series against the Braves. IIRC (just figured that one out), the games were broadcast on ABC. His sign said, "Always Better in Cleveland." April 18, 200916 yr Good game 1... Cavs win.. Pistons didnt even seem like they wanted to be there. Pretty much. However, we shouldn't let that deter us from getting the job done. Games 2,3 & 4 will not be easy.
April 18, 200916 yr Good game 1... Cavs win.. Pistons didnt even seem like they wanted to be there. yeah and i didn't notice that they were there. now if only they were all like that one! Off topic but interesting. Garnett may be out for the playoffs. I want to see the Cavs win and all teams at their best so there are no "if's", "and's" or "but's" as to why the Celts do not repeat. ;) bah. i'm sure key starter jim chones' broken foot, which directly led to the celtics beating the cavs during the 'miracle of richfield' run, didn't bother them at the time.

April 20, 200916 yr Nice... Good Job Coach... I hate this waiting for the next game.. I know. to many days off. the NBA is just dragging out the playoff system. Elimate two teams from the first round and give the two highest seeds a bye in the first round.
April 20, 200916 yr Dammit! That's exactly what I was thinking while reading the article about Coach Brown! "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

April 21, 200916 yr Well- Obviously there is work to do...but i think the road through the east will be easier than i thought. Boston sucks and Orlando big man Dwight Howard may have a similar problem that Amare Stoudemire had that benched him for the year. Paul Pierce looks tired and old...and if he plans on guarding Lebron for 6 or 7 games, he will score about 8 points a game. But alas, lets take care of business tonight.
April 21, 200916 yr I've watched that commercial about 479 times since it was scent to me yesterday afternoon. It's sensational.
April 21, 200916 yr I've watched that commercial about 479 times since it was scent to me yesterday afternoon. It's sensational. Only 479? LOL
April 21, 200916 yr 480 now... the equipment manager guy is classic. I just sent that to my staff. My staff in LA is like "corny" and "they aren't focused" and "we're goig to sweep them in the finals, if they get that far". They are such haters!
April 21, 200916 yr LA still isnt taking Cleveland seriously, in fact, i dont think many people in the country are. Its nice to see that the "experts" on ESPN and people like Jim Rome are finally giving us our dues...but people like to hate our sports teams for some reason. I think our guys can man up.
April 21, 200916 yr Im a waaaayyyyyy bigger fan of the NHL and the Stanley Cup Playoffs than the NBA playoffs but ill be keeping an eye on how the Cavs are doing, probably starting with the conference finals. Cleveland needs a championship and this looks to be our closest thing to one right now (Cleveland City Stars won USL-2 last year and were promoted to USL-1 this year, but unfortunately not too many people even know about them). I dont understanding the hating and griping about the ESPN and other national "experts" not giving the cavs their props, all they are is people who get paid to voice an opinion. We know how good the Cavs are in Cleveland and thats all that matters. We'll see what they are saying when were lifting the trophy. Cavs as NBA champs and Penguins as Stanley Cup Champions this spring!

No we wallow in self pity. That energy comes from one place and one place only - Cleveland/Clevelanders, if not where would the national media get it from? Examples: "The drive" Haven't won a sports championship since '46, which is incorrect "the buzzer" Why are we still talking about that stuff? We love to wallow in self pity and misery! GET THE FUCK OVER IT PEOPLE! MOVE ON!
April 22, 200916 yr Man is TNT using stock footage tonight??? I didn't see Progressive Field lit up? There's a home indians game going on right now?...? Either way, Cavs seem to be taking are of business...46-32 HALFTIME UPDATE EDIT: They just did a live camera "drive by" of the baseball stadium which makes me think they have nothing in the air. Maybe I'm wrong, but who knows. I just feel like this is a perfect opportunity to see downtown at night with both games going on.

I don't think there is a blimp tonight, IIRC it's being used at a different game. TNT will not show the baseball game or images of it.
April 22, 200916 yr yeah this is defo stock image, i just turned the game on in time to see the whistle and a shot of downtown before the commercial and there was NO red key logo on top of the key tower. Ha those were put on top of the tower what 3 or 4 years ago???

April 22, 200916 yr BTW is the coverage of the game better? I'm sure you've noticed how complimentary of the city the analysts have been.
April 22, 200916 yr i just switched it over about 5 minutes ago after pittsburgh scored to go up 3-1 in the hockey game so i dont know
April 22, 200916 yr This is the final nail in Detroit's run.. this team is gonna be torn apart this off-season.
