I don't know why I let the anti-Cleveland things get to me.  I went right to that link and read a little bit, then I was all like, "I'm gonna show these Chicago pr!cks what my town is all about!"  Then I realized it was a SPORTS BLOG.  I would still like to punch that writer in the face, though.

  • massive team effort & big win on espn vs okc tonight — awesome game and superb coaching and substitutions — anyway, i watched most of it out, but the end back at our dystopian atlanta hotel - 😂🎉

  • Great win! Six-and-one!! Great to see Garland and Mitchell together for a full game. Those two are going to be magical as they play together more.

^ me too.  I hate when people feel the need to try and bring others down.  Clearly our city is fine.  All he needs to do is read a magazine and he could fill a Saturday.  I guess when Boston beat the cavs a few years ago, i was a sore loser too.

Yeah but Boston's a horrible place filled with racist neanderthals.

We tried to make reservations last Thursday at multiple locations downtown for dinner following the game and each was booked.  We ended up going to Tremont instead, which was still pretty busy (we went to the Prosperity Club).  So yeah, I'm going to chalk this one up to being bitter your team is going to get humiliated in round 1.

I did see Vinny Del Negro and some fellow coaches out yesterday afternoon, so it looks as though someone within the Bulls organization can find something to do while in town.

I don't know why I forced myself to read that Bulls blog post.

IMHO, anyone who responds by listing things to do in Cleveland is just taking the bait.  Much better is the "good thing there's lots to do in Chicago, because you're season is ending next week" approach.  These are sports fans; they don't care about the Orchestra.  They care that our team is much better than their team.

Noah and his homies should have went to MELT, that would have eaten up a Sunday afternoon.

The guy should show respect!! Without Cleveland producing steel to help win WW2...he wouldnt even be playing basketball in this great country...what a spoiled little b!tch!!!!

This is from ESPN beat writer Chris Sheridan. He was responding to a question about Noah's comment during his weekly chat.

Chris Sheridan (3:19 PM)

"No. And I also disagree with Noah's assessment of Cleveland. There are worse NBA cities to be stuck in for four days, trust me. Just need to know where to go in Cleveland. (Example: Best Vietnamese food I've ever had, except for in NY's Chinatown, was in Cleveland.)"

Noah had a bit of a gilded performance last night.  20+ pts, 10+ rebs.... -15 while on the floor :) (the worst +/- for any of the Bulls)

Pictures from last night (excuse the fact I didn't have an expensive camera with me!).  Oh, and 20,562 fans all together screaming "Noah sucks!" was awesome.

Awesome shots and seats Doc-Broc!!!  (you might have to hang on to the mister)

"Oh, and 20,562 fans all together screaming "Noah sucks!" was awesome."  Thats awesome!

Oh yes, our loser downtown is lacking the TGI Fridays and Applebees that all the nice downtowns have.....

Interesting that I came across an article from the Chicago paper about Cleveland being such a hot restaurant city, but Im guessing Noah doesnt do much reading.

Hey Noah, how many games left until your vacation starts?

2!

At least he won't have to come back to Cleveland until next season.

No doubt! As much as it hurts me to say, I have to agree with him! Hang on to that man! :-D

And it also hurts me to say Noah is correct that Chicago was much more "exciting" than Cleveland was last weekend......

^ thats not funny at all.

but what was funny was a sign someone held up during the game that said something like, "noah we have dentists, you could have seen one!" lmao at that!!

Naturally Noah's comments bugged me.  Still, having a villain spices things up a bit and adds a layer of entertainment.

Noah's just mad at the dearth of pom-pom waving cheerleaders in Cleveland that he can strike.

The sign I saw said "Hey Noah, on your day off, see a Dentist!" Ouch but well deserved!

Yeah, well Noah pissed me off. This notion that one city is better than another always comes with caveats. Chicago's murderous recent history is one big caveat.

Let's play some basketball.

What is also funny is from the walk-ability scores the United Center gets a 71 while the Q gets a 95. Maybe Noah couldn't handle all the additional options close to a NBA arena.

Well, we all know how simple minded comparing one city directly with another is.  Chicago is huge, it's simply dumb to expect Cleveland to be anything like it.  Still, I love having a villain in the series.  I didn't notice the teeth signs but the creator really knew how to strike back... that's a funny person.

Noah didn't compare Chicago to Cleveland.  In fact, according to some scuttlebutt that has surfaced following his comments, he kind of feels the same way about the windy city.

Ok, I guess that is true.  I just assume when anyone talks about a city they are comparing them to their current surroundings.

13.

Well King James & co. pummeled the bulls last night to be sure!

Dear Joakim Noah,

Have we given you enough to do here yet?

Sincerely,

Cleveland

P.S. - Should we institute a LeBron-only 3-point arc? It is starting to get unfair. Cavs in 5.

This was on the site http://www.sincerelycleveland.com/

More is to come on the site apparently but for now they keep updating it with a simple message mostly Cavs - Bulls related messages.

4 wins down, 12 wins to go.  Ice up that elbow LBJ.

It's time to welcome Boston into town.  Downtown's gonna be buzzing!

Anybody else a little uncomfortable with that series?

And as much as I hate to say this, good luck next year Noah, we look forward to seeing you in the playoffs again. BTW is that a beard or just overgrown sideburns?

^ Yeah...it was a tough series...but look at Chicago's track record...they relaly step it up hardcore in the playoffs.  Last year they took Boston to 7 games...probably had no business doing that.  We took them out in 5.

One thing i have learned is that you cannot base ANY future series off of the series that just took place.  WHen Boston won it all in '08, they weere dead in the water according to everyone because Atlanta and Cleveland took them to 7...they promptly went on and beat Detroit and LA with ease.  I fully expect this series to be very difficult...but i think the cavs will get it done.

Most importantly, Lebron needs to get his elbow back again.  He had so many opportunities to drive the hoop last night and at least draw the foul.  It seemed like he just did not want to get fouled hard and get any more hurt then he may be.  The plus was he was constantly being double teamed leaving somone wide open.  Seeing him shoot that foul shot with his left hand was really scary.

Seeing him shoot that foul shot with his left hand was really scary.

But it was good television...Hmmmmm.....

Hate to say it because I love the guy and would never question his toughness, but Lebron tends to 'milk' his nicks and bruises.  Jordan used to do the same thing.  I am not worried about the elbow.  X-ray and MRI revealed no structural damage.

I fully expected Chicago to win one or two games in the series and play us tough.  They are a very scrappy team and we took them lightly at certain points.  I thought Reggie Miller was dead on last night when he said the Cavs looked like a cat toying with a piece of string.  They knew, if they had to, they could turn it on at any moment.

The most promising development of the series for me was Jamison's evolution with Lebron and our overall offense.  He will keep KG busy in this next series and not allow him to roam on defense.  As long as we can do a decent job of keeping Rondo out of the paint, I am going to say Cavs in 6.

^ I'd rather everyone think LeBron isn't 100%, because you know regardless of how he feels, he's gonna go out there and win you a series.

Something about this LeBron injury has me thinking of our fair town's sports curses.  I just get that bad feeling of "here we go again"...

SHUT YOUR F***ING MOUTH.....lol Just messing, but seriously Lebron tends to milk his injuries a bit and I think last night was no different. There is an interview with him on the main page of Cleve.bomb and he says hes fine and healthy.

Dear Joakim Noah,

Hey Joakim, I thought you said no one vacations in Cleveland -- yet you started your summer vacation here....

Hts, I agree 100% and was thinking the same thing, LBJ always puts on theatrics with his minor injuries and goes the extra mile to hobble or wince on camera and yet didn't ask to be taken off the court?  Suspect.  Not saying LBJ doesn't get banged up etc. but how many times has he "twisted an ankle" sat out 5 mins and re-entered the game to dominate?  No offense since I love the guy but its a bit drama queenish... I am no Kobe fan but do you see him talk about injuries, even much more serious ones like a fractured finger the way LBJ milks his?  No he makes no bones about it, no excuses go out and play.  This isn't high-school, you get paid in the NBA.

That being said I am in Boston now for the week and talking enough smack to last a lifetime, Garnett and Big Baby are going to eat their words.

Feeling better a day after the Chicago series ended. I also feel better that LBJ was trying to ask Mike Brown if he had  a TO to call between foul shots and didn't just try and toss it up left handed.

I expect some blood on the floor in this next series. If KG gets in trouble again does he miss multiple games?

Let's Go Cavs! Let's win this F***ing thing!

Lebron does soak up the getting hit in the face, poked in the eye, type stuff.  I wonder how he would handle being in a fistfight sometimes because he tends to 'crumble' to the ground whenever someone hits him in the face.

That said, I am always amazed at how he handles the ankle injuries.  I have seen that guy many times twist his ankles in ways that would have easily broke mine (or at least tore up my ligaments).  He sucks those up and usually gets right back in the game.  I've heard his ankles are able to bend like that because of his stretching regiment.

Channeling Spike Lee as Mars Blackmon," It's gotta be the shoes!"

But no sh!te about his ankles, he'll roll his foot over 90 degrees to his leg and shake it off like nothing happened.

I agree.  I've seen 'Bron take so many hits/falls that would seemingly put other professional athletes out for weeks or months and he'll shake it off like it was nothing.  This is why I'm kind of worried about how much of a big deal is being made out of this elbow injury.

You should have seen how Jim Brown used to make his way back to the huddle after a play.  Always keep your opponents guessing.

And what was it like to watch the boxing exploits of Diagoras of Rhodes?

I don't know when this was released, but Saturday's Game 1 will be officially at 8 pm.  Hope we get some nice night shots of the Skyline!

Also, I found this humorous:

The playoff statistical leaders for each team thus far (and all this with a "sore" elbow!)

playoff leaders

bos:  PPG Pierce 19.6  RPG Garnett 8.8  APG Rondo 10.2    BPG Perkins 2.2

cle:  PPG James 31.8  RPG James 9.2    APG James 8.2      BPG James 2.4
