Lackluster performance by the Cavs, brilliant performance by Rondo. Bring it home for the win.

The Land has been one of the nicknames for Cleveland since the mid-90s at least, specifically within the Black Community and within Hip-Hop culture. That along with C-Town, which more people may be fa

  • massive team effort & big win on espn vs okc tonight — awesome game and superb coaching and substitutions — anyway, i watched most of it out, but the end back at our dystopian atlanta hotel - 😂🎉

  • Great win! Six-and-one!! Great to see Garland and Mitchell together for a full game. Those two are going to be magical as they play together more.

If we shoot just 35% from 3 point land, we win the game.

Basketball is easy when the ball's going in the hoop.

A lot of it comes down to Lebron needing to realize when he's not hot and stop shooting the long ball.  He's not a 45% shooter, he's either a 20% or a 70% shooter depending on the day.

Agreed.  I thought he played pretty lazy basketball yesterday.  It grinds my gears when he drives in for a shot, misses it, and spends several seconds arguing with the official about the no call while the other team is either streaking down the court or the battle for the rebound is still going on.  Play the game and quit bitching Lebron.  It makes you look childish and selfish.

He's not the only one.  The NBA is filled with whiners, and I think we're unfortunately one of the worst offending teams.  Andy almost took a fastball to the nuts when Rondo saved the ball going out of bounds.  The replay showed he was whining to the ref as Rondo saved it.  It also showed that he tried to grab Rondo, then acted like he got fouled.  I love the Cavs, but come on, stop acting like whiny babies, ESPECIALLY when you don't even have a reason to whine.

If they (Cavaliers) win this series...it will have to be won in Boston, right?  This is what concerns me. I know they won there, but with this pattern going of good game/bad game...wouldn't that push it back to Boston?

They will go back to Boston no matter what.  The games are played 2-2-1-1-1, so game 6 is in Boston, game 7 is in Cleveland.

Cleveland retains the homecourt advantage in the last 3 games.

There is some talk that LeBron may start guarding Rondo (at least for portions of the game).  I wouldn't mind seeing that.

I was at the gym on Friday, and there was a dude talking to the dude who was making my smoothie.  They were talking about the Cavs, and so instead of being awkward and just standing there, I chimed into the conversation.  I said something about them being okay if they'd shoot better than 30-something percent, at which point both guys looked at me like "Whaaaat?"  One of the guys said, "Damn girl, you know what you talkin' about!  What's yo name?"  I was proud of myself, hahaha.

Yeah Lebron whines sometime BUT the bottom line is we have average coaching with superior talent.  MB does not know how to make game adjustments.  Have you noticed we make trades to adjust for other teams but teams dont never adjust to us. We have Z, MOON, Gibson,. Throw option at Rondo..I get it the Celts are good but damnit the Cavs are much better period

^ Yes.  When Rondo is wreaking havoc and the outside shooting is going as poorly as it did in game 4, why Moon or even Boobie don't get 10-15 minutes of PT in an attempt to 1) give Rondo a different look and 2) make some outside jumpers when no one else connecting is beyond me and 100% falls on Brown.

Parker was ineffective all the way around and should have been yanked early yesterday.  Other games when Shaq has been ineffective, he remains on the floor.  There's a stubborness to his coaching methods and 0 ability to make adjustments in game when the initial game plan isn't working.

Mike Brown reminds me of Jim Tressel sometimes.....

I agree with everything you guys said about Mike Brown. He's not the best coach he just has a good cast. I would be glad to see him fired.

But on this team -- it's all about who Lebron wants to play for...and Mike Brown is the man.

I don't know if I would be too quick to fire Mike Brown.  If you look at the team we have today compared to the team that got swept by the Spurs in the finals, we're in a much better position today than we were just 3 years ago.  If Mike Brown could take the team of 3 years ago to the finals, he can surely coach THIS team to a championship ring....... or so I hope.

My question is why isn't the level of intensity higher over all? Besides game 3 in this series and game 4 of Chicago they have been overall pretty flat. You don't have to be on fire all the time but at least look like you want to win 50% of the time. They were in Sunday's game and just never really turned it on. They cut the lead down to two and then blow it with multiple sloppy ball handling and crappy shots.....Don't you want to win???? It's the playoffs against Boston??? And the rest of the team is flat because LeBron isn't putting on a clinic. Weak.

Boston is one year removed from winning the title, and took Orlando to 7 games last year, they are a good team.  I think the Cavs gave good effort in game 4, the Celtics just gave a little bit more.  I expect the Cavs to win the next two, taking it in 6 like almost everyone predicted.

What I hope for is to stop the cool looking faces, stares into the crowd, muscle flexing, and goosies.

I think the Cavs gave good effort in game 4, the Celtics just gave a little bit more.

This is where I mostly disagree.  I don't think the Celtics gave more effort than the Cavs.  They were putting the ball in the basket better than we were during that given game.  It happens.  It doesn't mean they're overall better than us, or that we need to play harder.  We just need some shots to go down.  Game 3 was a blowout because Delonte and Lebron couldn't miss from outside.  In Game 4, Delonte was 0-7 from the field and Lebron was 7-18.  Only one of those seven shots made was outside 12 feet.  Jamison didn't hit any outside shots.  We just need to make some outside shots and we'll be fine.

What I hope for is to stop the cool looking faces, stares into the crowd, muscle flexing, and goosies.

I agree.  I've felt that way since the middle of last year.  They could use a little humble pie.

What -- being title-free isn't humbling enough? Show some hunger. Show some focus. Be adjustable. Forget the referees. And just be fucking pissed that the other team is trying to stop you from winning a title.

I hope my foot ends up in my mouth...But, if we go down 3-2 tonight and continue the inconsistent play..... it's simply a little diddy of ... "Good bye Cavs...good bye Cavs......Goood bye CAVS...its sad to see you goooooo"

I have a bleak feeling it will be Cavs down 2-1 by tonight...  Jim Chones got it right in the interview after the game about this team basically sleepwalking. I don't care how "old" the Celtics are..it also takes brains and a plan to win this game and that is the department we have been falling short in lately. I hope I am wrong, but will not get hopes up.

EC, I'm trying to stay positive here!

So EC  are you for the Cavs before you were against the Cavs?

I am confused....

He was for them until he saw a game and the fans were cheering,  ALL THAT NOISE POLUTION!  :wink2:

If the Cavs lose tonight the series is over.

A total GD embarrassment... cut all the BS, get rid of the complicated handshakes, get rid of the chalk clap, get rid of all that shit... play some hardnosed playoff basketball... Game 6, Rando drives the lane, knock him on his f'n ass.  Perkins mouthes off, throw an elbow.  I'm sick of this wussy play and being a joke.  Jordan certainly did not win every playoff game, in fact, many of his series went to 6/7 games, but he sure as hell didn't let his team get embarrassed like this twice in a series.  If they didn't get lucky in game 1, this series would be over.  Boston has outplayed us in every game but game 3, and apparently, the Cavs didn't realize this again tonight...

They got themselves in this position.  Now they have to get themselves out.  I might have to take back my comments about Mike Brown, however.

Phil Jackson- you're free after this season...

:whip:

F************ck! I got out to the bar for that?  If you can play, then play. If you are hurt then sit. Mike Brown I know it's LBJ's team but tell him to sit his ass on the bench if he can't contribute.

I know how this movie ends.  The Browns should be promising in the next few years.

I knew this would happen..... Same old same old... That said...this game? Utterly nauseating, pathetic...disgusting and looked as though it was intentional! Get lost LeBron...you leave, you leave a loser who didn't get the job done...take "No" Williams with you. Proves how maturity, planning, guts, determination, and focus win games...even if your opponent is "old." This was simply CRAP! Looked like a very BAD high school girls team! No sense of pride or showing their loyalty, or sense of obligation to the fan base. How blatantly betraying!.... No coaching, no leadership...  Nothing, AGAIN!  :whip:

I know how this sucks but there comes a time when we have to chose between this crap...or our sanity! Someone has to survive and we cannot let sports drag us down. We are tougher than these teams so let's show it. HEY!  There are probably some high school girl's teams that would take exception to that.

^ Yes...you're RIGHT! My apologies! They would have performed and given a game of effort!

Well, I don't know.  As bummed out as I am about it I am still looking forward to game 6.  If that fails then I am looking forward to the football season, which is really what I care about most.

Did anyone notice Calipari sitting next to Lebron's agent a few seats down from Gilbert?  I think that Lebron wants Brown out and Calipari in if he's going to resign with the Cavs.

So, the fans should be less supportive, so we can win some championships?  If that's the case, the Tribe should be hoisting a couple of WS trophies in the next few years, because nobody cares about them..

Phil Jackson- you're free after this season...

HAHAHAHA! Not gonna happen.

Think Chicago can afford James? Calipari might be headed there...

"It's just fate, as usual, keeping its bargain and screwing us in the fine print..." - John Crichton

What happen to our Cleveland Cavaliers that we watched the last 5 years?  I watched Lebron intently on about possession in the third quarter.  He wasnt trying on defense.  His elbow should have nothing to do with his hustle.  Its almost as if he quit or was gambling against hte cavs.  Unreal.

What is up with Lebron? Shouldn't he be just a little bit testy right now? He is all wishy washy. Is this the same guy that refused to talk to reporters after the Orlando loss last year? I think  he feels like he has lost control for the first time in his life and it is freaking him out. Is there something going on in his personal life? The way this whole thing is playing out is just weird, which is a word I have seen 3 or 4 times in the write ups on last nights game.

Buck up son. Make it happen.

PS thank you Shaq your efforts last night did not go unnoticed by the fans.

Lebron will most likely be playing for either Chicago or Cleveland next year, and I think he'll be playing for the team that hires Calipari.

Phil Jackson's contract with the Lakers is up this year, no?  GET HIM OVER HERE!!!!  It's looking like we might not make it with Mike Brown...

With a bench as deep as ours, this series SHOULD NOT be 3-2 headed back to Boston, with two embarrassments at home nonetheless.  Unacceptable.

The other rumor I've hear is if the Nets land the #1 pick...hire Calipari, draft John Wall, and sign LeBron.

Yes, I am suggesting that, actually......it may force change instead of these fans continuing to be screwed with a bad product. What was witnessed last night erases and makes meaningless this best record thing. We have proven we can get in the playoffs.. Been there done that, but to fail at three attempts at winning the next thing is simply failure.

Do you keep buying any other product if it is bad? No.. If this is all about business then the fans need to exercise their right as a customer of this "business" and quit buying what they're selling. If not we simply become pawns and suckers to this industry. It is the loyalty of the Cleveland fans that is their biggest enemy... It is like a wife who keeps going back to her husband who beats her. Such does not evoke change.

The Cavs have the talent to win this...But the leadership (coaching) is not what it needs to be.

And what I express does NOT make someone a fair weather fan.... It makes them a wise fan. Rise up...wise up! I have supported these teams since 1977 and have been there...  Just because anybody expresses a frustration of saying enough is enough....does not mean they are a fairweather fan. It simply means one is through sitting on our laurels and instead is wanting to take things to the next level.

Well, it's a big stretch to call the Cavs a "bad product".  A lot of people are just upset and confused right now because the normally great product is not acting normal.

^ Yes, exactly.. What the hell is going on? It is either that or they were acting like they were good all along. A lot of the older fans are really crabby about this because they have lived through a lot more frustration and just cannot settle for anything less.

On a side note.....ever notice how the games on TV have all the announcers and commercials being centered around the Celtics? "The Celtics care for their community" etc?

I cannot stand to hear it...Going back to Boston and hearing that PA announcer at their court...  "Raaaaajonnnnn.. RONNNNNNNDOOOOOOO"

"Raaaaayyyyyyy ALLLENNNNN"

UGH!!!!

When I hear that, it makes me want to cram the mic down his throat!

^ The more i think about it and read.  Lebron gave up on the game.  He gave up on the team.  he gave up on the city.  I was at the game last night and the feeling there was that of mass Lebron-aggedon.  I never thought you could see that kind of quit out of him.  He took some of the most awful teams the league could have assembled and beat Detroit, and almost beat Boston two years ago.  This is on him, elbow or no elbow, you can still hustle with a bad elbow.  I want my money back for last night.  Ive said ALL year that Lebron was coming back here 100%, after what i saw last night, i think he will be in chicago next year.

Lebron's performance and his behaviour really demand an explanation because it's not sitting well at all, and it's completely unacceptable. Even if it's Brown (and I do think he needs to go) it's still unaccpetable for LeBron to put in such a pathetic performance. I mean he should fight 150% to win no matter what the issue and he clearly did not do that last night. To be paid the crazy amount of money he gets and not put in a brilliant effort is unthinkable and really an embarrasment to the entire NBA. My opinion of Lebron, and his ability, has been gradually sliding for a while now. It's almost too stressful to have him on the Cavs, everything is about Lebron versus the entire team. I am actually ok if he leaves.

Funny I was sitting next to a guy who had a chance to last night and he was sooo thankful he did not blow his money on the ticket.

I hope this debacle last night is the wake up call they need.
