I'm all in.  Bolstered by two independent sources both saying it is a done deal, one of whom works closely with the man (or at least did when he was with the Cavs and whenever he is back home), and the other who I don't know personally but has usually had very good info ahead of time.  The former, I actually don't care for that much on a personal level, so it could be a win-win for me if Lebron doesn't come back and I get to take him down a peg ;)

I'm curious to who your sources are.  Not to interrogate you, or diminish the credibility of your intel, but even Windy is uncertain.  Not to mention, your source gave you this information prior to LBs meeting with Riley.

Lebron flying from Vegas to Miami to Rio tonight and tomorrow.

James has plans to fly to World Cup over the weekend. Heat and Cavs expect his decision before he leaves for Brazil, sources tell Yahoo.

I'm told James's plan - to fly from Vegas to Miami to Brazil - has been planned for more than a month, and that nothing should b read n2 it

This is getting very interesting. Definitely not at 85  pct for Cavs anymore :)

LeBron's legacy will unfold in Cleveland, because it must. His Miami legacy is 4-for-4 with 2 titles. Nobody can ever take that away.

Cavs talked w/ agents Thursday on players designed to surround LeBron James. Had hopes he'd commit to Cleveland before day's end. Nothing.

^ Quite a recap!!!  What a day yesterday was in this unfolding drama.  We're rooting for you guys down here in Cap City.

I don't normally post at 2 in the morning but just happened to be awake.  And after watching SportsCenter and reading this thread I thought of an apropos song.  It's a great old song from the Talking Heads.  Especially relevant is the chorus of "STILL WAITING!!!!":

If you choose to believe anything anyone says about the matter it sounds like things are being wrapped up, and Lebron will re-up in some fashion with the Heat.

So they're calling it The Indecision.

Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice, shame on us.

So they're calling it The Indecision.

Bwahaha ... I wish I'd thought of that one.

He's staying in Miami.

^you talked to him?

He's staying in Miami.

I feel that way also at this point, due to the long wait, and the trip with Wade yesterday.  Two days ago however, I would have said you're wrong.  Still holding out hope at this point, but at this point, I'm moreso upset, not nervous.

In any event, I think he wants to be on a plane out of this country when the news breaks.  We probably should have picked up on that point a couple days ago.

If he was intent on re-signing with Miami, he wouldn't have waited so long to do it.

"In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

Why the hell did they ask for extra patrols from the Bath police yesterday? That was almost fanning the flames.

^you talked to him?

Everyday, were BFFs!

If you haven't noticed the man is the NBA number one drama queen!

How do I make myself relevant?  Keep the media guessing?

How do I position my self as the NBAs most influential player?  By waiting, I somewhat control what other Free Agents and veteran choose to do.

^Queen James? Oh god I am having visions LeBron Ru Pauling it, and it's not pretty...

Well we have cap space now to offer somebody another max contract.

^There are no other 'max' players left (other than Melo and Bosh, who would only consider us if it were to team with LBJ).  The cap clearing was done with one very specific intent, no matter what the Cavs say

Im at the point where even if he comes to Cleveland, i will remain more annoyed that he hijacked everyones week more than I am excited of his return.  He really hasnt grown up at all in 4 years.  I dont think he is a leader...i think he is a great talent but very emotionally weak.  THe best of the best, the leaders of the world are so high above a letter or all this drama.  I have never seen anything like this in sports.  This is 2010 all over again just without the show.

Also, Im really humiliated at people going to his house yesterday.  Of course the national cameras go there and it looks like we are a bunch of pthetic Ohioans with nothing better to do

I think it would have been reasonable to make an announcement within 24 hours of meeting with Pat Reilly, what has changed since then? Now this just dragging it out.Pull the band-aid off for crissakes, it's going to hurt somebody no matter when it is.

Not nearly as embarrassed as I STILL am at this......

^ My point above was that the only reason that 90% of the people were there was because they heard that they had called in extra security from the PD. Very self fulfilling announcement. I wonder if he got cold feet after seeing the frenzy this town was worked up into, and is now delaying to soften the blow?

There's a bunch of chatter on Twitter that now he wants an apology from Gilbert? WTF is going on? This sounds like someone got in his head yesterday and now he's backpedaling and looking for a way out.

Sounds like it.  Alot of Local CLE media report that relationship was repaired a while back...and it was evident when Lebron came to Z's ceremony and sat in a suite.  If they were still in a terrible place, i see that situation going a different route.

Yeah I've been seeing reports that he is still upset over the letter and that is delaying the decision, the Cavs though say this is news to them. Honestly right now I feel like I wouldn't mind if he returned but at this point I could care less, LeBron is as much of an attention hog now as he was in 2010.

wait you mean gilbert never apologized for his own childishness (that was also hella embarrassing)? i thought he already did make some kind of public statement at some point? no? so the f.o. blew a major pr pitch opportunity and yet they have supposedly been angling for this moment for quite awhile? if there was never an apology i dont buy it. a running gilbert conflict is enough in itself to keep lbj away. for now anyway.

I personally believe that the cavs and lebron have maintained their entire relationship behind the scenes without informing media.  Come on, Gilbert is known as one forward thinking and successful businessmen...do you think he honestly wouldnt have addressed this?  He's a smart guy, he admitted in the past the letter was dumb and Im sure at some point talked to Lebron about it.

Think about it...Dans plane went to Florida on Sunday and because of the suspicion of him coming here it was tracked...how many times do you think that plane could have went there when people WERENT expecting it?  I assume Sunday wasnt the only trip to So. FLorida

^That's pretty easy to find out.  Flight plans are basically public records.

^ You mean like this A$$hat? I love the LeBron apologists in the comments stating that he had no blame and the "Decision" was all Hunky Dory and Dan Gilbert over reacted for no reason. For the record, Gilbert overreacted...

well these quotes from your link answer my q about gilbert's infamous letter - thx!

Q: How about The Letter? As a whole, do you regret sending it?

A: I would’ve reworded the language in The Letter, but I don’t regret sending a letter out to our fan base. People forget the letter was not to LeBron, it was to our fan base. If I had to do it again, for sure, I would’ve reworded several parts of it. But I think it definitely needed a strong statement from me at that time. I keep a couple binders on my desk and I have a binder of the responses to The Letter from the people of Cleveland. There’s thousands, maybe 2,000 from every facet of life, from CEOs of big companies to hand-written letters from 94-year-old ladies, from street sweepers to policemen and firemen. The response went way beyond. For some reason, it appealed to this generational Cleveland thing. If you want to talk about books, someone should publish all the responses to The Letter. It was like, ‘We’re from Cleveland and we’ve been rejected.’

Q: Were you surprised by the reaction? Did you know it would cause that type of firestorm?

A: No, not to the extent that it did. I didn’t think it would. Going back now and looking, yeah probably. But at the time? I didn’t think it would become sort of the thing that it did.

Q: Has it had any negative impact on your organization over the last four years?

A: You never know for sure, but I haven’t felt it or been aware of it. People said nobody would come here, that’s not true. Do I think any players are going to not come here because Dan wrote a letter three or four years ago? I don’t think so.

Calm down, fellas.  CONSIDER THE SOURCE.  Broussard was the one who "broke" the story about the letter being a potential hang-up and it has spiraled from there.  His ORIGINAL article said the source was an 'unnamed league executive"...... it has since been revised to simply say it was a 'source.'  The source indicates that LBJ to Cleveland would've been done awhile ago if not for the letter.  Now read the tea leaves.  Who do you suspect the source was?  Haven't I always said that desperation is a stinky cologne?

Don't people realize that it is no longer necessary to travel to hold a meeting?

Genuine apologies need to be made face-to-face AND in private, not in front of the cameras.

Which by most accounts happened long ago.

He's back!!!!!!!!!!!

It's for real.  SI.com

Cleveland.com just reported it as well!

His letter is great too!!!

What letter? I see it now.

Aaron Goldhammer: I am seriously moved emotionally by LeBron's letter....

Suckers!  LOL

That letter was awesome.

Aaron Goldhammer, from DENVER COLORADO could not be happier for Cleveland.

It's noteworthy that while LeBron mentioned Kyrie, Anderson, Tristan in the letter he  did not specifically mention Andrew Wiggins.

A friend of mine said perfectly:  "What he needed to say, and what I needed to hear."

See Dan Gilberts tweet.  That as close to a public apology as were going to see publicly!

Miami's owner is pissed.  Good for them and Greater Miami!

Wiggins isn't signed yet.  Me thinks, they will trade him for Love.

There sure were a lot of Northeast Ohio mentions (which the majority of the planet has probably never heard of) rather than Cleveland.

Not so subtle there, LJB.

But who gives a $hit. It's been quite a week for Northeast Ohio AND Cleveland!

he's back baby - kyrie & co. are gonna take it with le king!

A lot of people do realize that locally we say "NE Ohio" or "Greater Cleveland" as other cities say "Metro X", Dallas uses "metro plex", Miami/Ft. Lauderdale use S. Florida or Chicago uses "Chicago Land". Using "NE Ohio" is such a minor thing to look at .

I say "Northeast Ohio" all the time.  Perhaps because I'm about halfway between the downtowns.  This area doesn't identify more strongly with either city except where sports is concerned.

Funniest thing I've read today:

R.I.P Miami Heat fanbase: 2010-2014.

Not to get off topic but I have never said I was from Northeast Ohio in my life.  And if I am outside of Ohio I certainly don't say I am from Cleveland Heights as if would not mean much to most people unless you were originally from the area.  I simply say I am from Cleveland.

Only on urbanohio.com will people argue the nomenclature of our region when breaking news like LeBron james is coming back breaks.
