  • massive team effort & big win on espn vs okc tonight — awesome game and superb coaching and substitutions — anyway, i watched most of it out, but the end back at our dystopian atlanta hotel - 😂🎉

  • Great win! Six-and-one!! Great to see Garland and Mitchell together for a full game. Those two are going to be magical as they play together more.

As promised, I didn't watch a minute of tonight's game. But I heard the yelling and fireworks in my neighborhood, so I turned on the TV seconds after it was over. So now I can't watch the rest of the series because it's clear that I am the center of the universe! My absence was the key to victory!

I need a cigarette after that game...

As was me drinking out of the same Cavaliers pint glass, wearing the same Cavaliers shirt as every other Cavs game, and laying on my floor instead of the couch haha

Wooohooo!!!!!

Curry and Thompson will get there's, but we can break this team in the next two games. I noticed in the second half they started to look out of sorts offensively. They are a rhythm team. The cavs have the right people to keep them out of rhythm. The cavs will have the two toughest minded guys on the floor in Delly and lebron- just have to find points from role players at home. I'm not expecting and explosion game from GSW at this point.

We shot 32% and still won

^As I noted after Game 1, our starters soundly beat their starters.  The difference tonight is that we kept their bench in check.  We very easily could be coming home up 2-0... but I'll take 1-1.  We now have homecourt advantage and, perhaps, the psychological advantage as well.

It's all about lock-down defense.  We now have held GSW to 98 points in regulation in Game 1 and 93 points in regulation + OT in Game 2.  Our bigs simply mashed theirs, and Mozgov totally befuddled Bogut, and even though Tristan struggled to score again, he neutralized Green who didn't have a bucket until OT.  We frustrated their frontcourt players so much, they fouled continuously... Big props to David Blatt.  He came in with a great game plan to win with this severely shorthanded team.

I wouldn't hold your breath for that on this site! Being Positive? Having confidence? Hilarious.

Indians play Seattle at home this week as well.  Gonna be a fun week for Downtown CLE

i think kyrie instagram willed the win from the hospital

my noives are shot!

I heard that, after the loss last night, Steph took off his jersey and found Delly inside it

Could this be the turning point, not only for the Cavs winning a championship, but for all Cleveland sports teams, where they will not be denied, regardless of bad calls, injuries to star players, facing a better opponent on the road, etc

Great shot here.....

Again, I didn't watch the Cavs game live. And again we won. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Yes please use this time more constructively.  Like writing an op-ed to Crain's about rail in Cleveland!  And let the CAVS keep winning! :)

Game 3 was perhaps one of the best NBA playoff experiences I've witnessed.

Cleveland Cavs first HOME COURT Finals win!

The city's energy, downtown in particular, was at an all time high!

^ eddie, last night was the 2nd cavs finals win.

although he sure woke up late in the 4th quarter, so far overall he is looking lost and not very league mvp-like:

between Game 2 and the first three quarters of Game 3 Curry was a combined 9-for-34 overall and 4-for-20 from 3-point range.

I meant on OUR home court.  I will revise my post.

Someone on radio described Dellavedova as playing 'Australian Rules Basketball'

:)

"LeBron is the best player. But the key player in this series is Matthew Dellavadova."

Just think of that phrase...really gives perspective on how utterly unpredictable this season has been.

I just can't stop thinking we are a half a sec away from winning Game 1 in regulation and being up 3-0 in this series.  Now I'm worried the Cavs are almost out of gas and Golden State is going to win a couple just because they have more depth and the players are more rested

^ I think if they don't win tomorrow, they can't win the series.  I fear that if this goes 7, they will have no steam left.

I agree, tomorrow is still unbelievably important.

Before game 3, I kept hearing that in previous Finals where the series was tied 1-1, the winner of game 3 went on to win 31 out of 37 times. I haven't been able to look it up, but my suspicion is that most of the 6 times where it didn't happen, the team that lost game 3 was the team that had home court advantage.

... which is why Blatt needs to use more "bodies" to eat minutes earlier in these last few games before their in doubt.  He's used Miller lately and, although he hasn't scored, his presence proved valuable (esp last night in his being able to successfully inbound the friggin' ball in the last few seconds when the team, esp Iman Shumpert, were literally imploding before our eyes.... I'm surprised we haven't seen Marion, who despite retiring can still play some pretty good defense (which is what we're all about in post Love-Kyrie World).  I also might throw in Harris, with his size and young, fresh legs.  Conventional wisdom is that young Joe would be overwhelmed by the big stage, but I think the kid could handle it.  We would only be using these guys to eat minutes to give the starters a blow and have them ready for the 4th quarter close-out, not become junior Matthew Dellavedovas.

Dellavedova Breaks Arms, Legs, Neck; Will Play Game 4

In a freak accident following Game 3 of the N.B.A. Finals, Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Matthew Dellavedova suffered fractures in all four of his limbs and neck, but said that he should be ready to play in Game 4, on Thursday.

Speaking from an intensive-care unit at the Cleveland Clinic, the gritty Australian declined to dwell on the details of the accident, but said that he would not let the loss of his limbs and neck keep him out of Thursday’s contest.

“I’m not going to give less than a hundred per cent just because I’m playing without a spinal column,” said Dellavedova, who acknowledged that he also broke his spinal column.

I'm not so sure it would really matter all that much.  Games 4-7 are always 2 home, 2 away.

It might, the home team would be down 2-1 and not have the home court advantage any longer.

My point is that from there on out, neither team has home court advantage.  So I don't see why it'd matter all that much who had home court advantage to begin with after Game 3 is over.

You said it yourself, no more home court advantage and down 2-1 is big.

Warriors have to go 3 and 1, Cavs have to go 2 and 2.

There's a few ways to look at it.  (1) We have to get two more wins against the (presumably) best team in the league.  Sounds tough.  (2) Golden State needs to win 3 of the next 4 against this scrappy bunch led by the best player on the planet.  Good luck with that.

I'm certainly not comfortable at all.  But I'm trying my best to enjoy the ride.  And one helluva ride it has been.

I haven't had this much fun since '95!

I got back to ATL yesterday and took a look at ESPN...how many times can they mention the 51 year title drought lol.  it seems like thats all they talk about. And of course the loss of jobs, etc, etc

Reread the post I quoted.  He already stated that the team up 2-1 wins 31 out of 37 times.  We're talking about the other 6 (when the team up 2-1 lost) and whether it matters or not if the team had home court advantage.

Okay, you're right that there is no more home court advantage, and what you said is correct, but the Cavs have the overall advantage. It does matter much to have the overall advantage as evidenced by the 31-6 record.

Maybe the poster mean advantage.
