The Land has been one of the nicknames for Cleveland since the mid-90s at least, specifically within the Black Community and within Hip-Hop culture. That along with C-Town, which more people may be fa

  • massive team effort & big win on espn vs okc tonight — awesome game and superb coaching and substitutions — anyway, i watched most of it out, but the end back at our dystopian atlanta hotel - 😂🎉

  • Great win! Six-and-one!! Great to see Garland and Mitchell together for a full game. Those two are going to be magical as they play together more.

Everyone still scared of the Heat?

Yes. Cavs don't know how to play against them. LeBron gives them more respect than they deserve.

Hmmmm.  Sounds familiar to what they were saying about us vs. the Hawks last year.

I'm wondering who exactly is still on the Heat that played a major role while LBJ was there.  Wade, for sure.  Bosh is hurt.  Chalmers and Anderson are gone.  Obviously, Allen, Miller, and Jones all gone.  Norris Cole gone.  Who is "them"?

So per Cavs email I just got, games 1 and 2 of round two will be Monday and Wednesday next week.

Did you see the game? The Heat looked awful.

^Yes I did.  That's why I asked.  The Heat rely on some fairly 'green' players and I have some serious doubts that Wade is going to be able to make it through two rounds of the playoffs without limping into the conference finals.

I don't put much, if any, stock in sporadic regular season matchups.  I've seen way too many wrong predictions using that model.

Dragic scares me a bit but it's hard to see their offense producing enough to take more than a game from us (if they can actually beat the ex-Bobcats).

Welp, Miami has dropped 3 consecutive games to Charlotte.  So there's that.

Rooting for Boston and Indiana in the final two games of their series. Easiest route to the Finals would be the Cs and Hornets/Pacers, IMHO.

I don't want to face Boston again.  Too much bad blood from last year's series, esp Game 4.  There could be the possibility of more altercations, more injuries and even game(s) suspensions.  We don't need any of that... Right now, there's no team I fear in the East, so I'd just as soon it be Atlanta, who we'll make short work of.

We'll it's Atlanta. A lot of bad blood there but on the Hawks side. Delly took out Korver in the ECF last year when he was scrapping for that loose ball. They're already talking, feeling confident now that they are healthy.

The hawks are 0-8 vs the cavs in the last two playoff series.  They are a confident and cocky bunch, but the cavs are more confident and cocky because they have the victories to back it up.  Cavs don't have to say anything because they know they are better.  Bazemore said after the sweep last year that they were still the better team.    I really don't see the Hawks winning more than 1 game...Millsap is a good player but Lebron seems to just toy with him.  They would need 4 almost perfect efforts...hard to believe that will happen

^^There's definitely some ill feeling with Atlanta with the Delly vs. Korver/Horford stuff, but it's worse with Boston.  It's not just Kelly Olynyk, the man who I firmly believe stole a championship from Cleveland with his nasty, cowardly arm-yank to KLove, there's Jae Crowder who not only was decked and injured by JR, but was pushing, shoving and banging on LeBron (hence Perkins pick/take down in Game 4).  That game was totally out of control.  We won the battle and ultimately the war, but that game cost us the BIG PRICE.  And make no mistake, Love still hates Olynyk...

I love me some Delly, but this is funny...

that's funny!

I like the calming influence Lue seems to have on this team.  He won't let them panic.  He stays the course and doesn't let the ebb and flow of the game dictate the way his team plays.

WOW!

One for the record books.

Amazing game!

I soaked up every minute.  Reggie Miller stated that the Cavs are playing THE best ball in the playoffs to date.

I'm in Indianapolis on business and missed the whole game. Watching the replay :) what a game... I don't want to get ahead of ourselves but this team is clicking like I never expected. What a great time to be a Cavs fan!!

Charles Barkley ,you better stop talking s*** about Cleveland you was never tough you hide behind TNT

there is a video up on youtube of them fighting in a game so they have history lol

Was Barkley really talking sh*t about Cleveland?  Seems like he was just giving the same bit about toughness every retired athlete from every sport does..... "in my time, we would've...."  20 years from now, you will hear Kobe, LeBron, etc. saying the same thing.

barkley didn't say anything about Cleveland...I think Oak meant talking crap about the Hawks hurting Cleveland (as in the Cavs).  Barkley even said "what did I say about Cleveland?"  Actually, TNT did a tremendous job with the pictures and coverage of our city

Atlanta hasn't been treated like that since Sherman.

The Hawks just need to stop the whining.  If they were set up to break a record, they would have tried too.  And if they were going to get 'defensive' about something, they should have started a few hours earlier.

Quick question for all you NBA experts.  -  I am going on vacation on June 19.  If the Cavs were to go to the finals and end up in a 7 game series when is the latest that you see

this game played.  I am 61 years old and have waited 52 years for a parade. I DO NOT want to miss the parade if they win a championship.

Reminds me of watching the OSU-Tressel championship in my dad's den.... in Charlotte... all by myself

I hope I don't jinx it, but the Cavs have yet to lose a single playoff game in which LBJ, KLove and Kyrie all play

It will be very interesting to see how ATL comes out after that beat down.

Anyhow, no jinxes, just good karma here:

ESPN put a stat out that no team starting 6-0 in the playoffs has won an NBA title. I hope they break that record too.

^That's not true.  The 92-93 Bulls swept the Hawks 3-0 and the Cavs 4-0 in the first two rounds of the playoffs before defeating the Knicks in the conference finals and the Suns in the NBA Finals.  00-01 Lakers swept through the entire Western Conference.  Maybe ESPN meant under the modern format where the first round went from best of 5 to best of 7?

Looked it up, good catch. Stats are for the "current playoff format". Showed one team losing in the semis, six teams losing in the Conference Finals and four teams losing in the Finals. Our friends at ESPN sure love to plant the seeds of doubt when it involves Cleveland.

I forgot about that Lakers team. They would have gone 15-0, if not for one crazy AI performance.

I have to admit that there was a part of me that didn't want to like Channing Frye because of the Varejao trade (I'm perhaps more of a loyalist than I should be), but he got it done tonight.

I think current playoff format started in 2003 with all series going best of seven

Last night was Channing Frye's coming out party for the Cavs.  I think, now, Lue truly realizes what he has in this man and he will, going forward, become an integral part of our rotation.  As we saw last night with Lue's great coaching moves, Frye is our weapon to combat the hack-a-Tristan approach teams are taking in crunch time, even if we lose a bit of Tristan's D and rebounding.  And in many ways, Frye gives us much of what Mozgov gave us -- he's long and lanky, can guard the rim, is more mobile and, obviously, is much more of an outside weapon than Mozgov is.  And you can tell, Frye readily, really wants this... wants to end his career with a ring, and can smell it.  Same with RJ, but on a different level.

The Cavs are going to win the championship this year... Book it!

I've been "stat-watching" Andy since the trade.

Last night's performance has me believing! Man was that impressive, especially how after Atlanta took the 11 point lead in the 3rd quarter the Cavaliers methodically turned that around into a double-digit win.

And Golden State goes down again.  Great to see them not breezing through.  Hopefully they will need to rely on Curry to keep him from resting.

Buckets.

Brooms.

(Sorcerer's Apprentice?)

why do we hate windhorst, again?

I suspect they've been working on threes all year, secretly, to spring this addition to their game when they need it.  Lue may have his issues but he is that smart.....
