  • massive team effort & big win on espn vs okc tonight — awesome game and superb coaching and substitutions — anyway, i watched most of it out, but the end back at our dystopian atlanta hotel - 😂🎉

  • Great win! Six-and-one!! Great to see Garland and Mitchell together for a full game. Those two are going to be magical as they play together more.

Downtown was wild last night. I can't wait for Sunday! We'll be at ABC in Ohio City at 530.

I rolled through during the last few minutes of the game just for the hell of it.  You aren't kidding.

Wake me when it's all over....

I boycotted/fell asleep through the last game. Since they won, I must repeat it again tonight. And hopefully Sunday, too.

PLEASE KJP.  Do not turn on the game Sunday!!!!!!

I fell asleep again last night and missed most of the first period, but decided to watch anyway. Cavs were leading by 20 points so I decided to watch. Then the Cavs' lead dwindled to 8. I thought -- "Dammit, I am a JINX!" But I kept watching anyway because I don't believe in jinxes. Sure enough, we won anyway.

I will watch Sunday and I won't be disappointed because the Cavs "lost" this series when it was 3-1 GSW. If they don't lose, it's because a miraCLE has truly happened and the Cavs will have done something that no other team has ever done -- winning a Finals after trailing 3-1. So it's a longshot they will win, but I will watch and I will manage my disappointment if they lose. If they lose "Cleveland-style" -- such as leading by 15 in the fourth period and losing the game on the final shot -- then I've learned no amount of disappointment management, despite all my decades of practice at it, can ease that pain.

And BTW, with Bogut out and Iguodala hurting, the Cavs have a much better chance to do what seemed impossible only a week ago.

On deck Sunday:

Cavaliers vs. Forever

I was there last night, it was awesome. The crowd was amazing. LeBron was amazing. Tristan was a beast. Great times!

Did the ABC pick up the numerous chants of MVP for LeBron? That was one of my favorite parts of the night.

Ayesha Curry makes me wish Twitter was around 10 years ago when Gloria James was on the prowl.

Yes, I heard the MVP stuff and I'm completely sports-stupid and I recognized it.

You're "rockandroller" not "sporzaholic" haha.

p.s. MVP stands for "Most Valuable Player" :-)

LOL.

But seriously RNR, please watch the game on Sunday. You get the chance to be Cleveland's Lucky Rabbit's Foot (Which one of those really weird things when you think about it, that you don't see anymore. Rabbit foot keychains?????)

well, that much I knew.

Little-known secret I hardly reveal: I know quite a bit about certain sports, but they are not mainstream and mostly, I no longer follow them so I just claim ignorance of all sports as it's easier. But, here's the reality:

- Grew up watching the Bird-McHale Celtics with my dad. He didn't watch every game, but he was a fan. I was even on the elementary school b-ball team for one year in the 5th grade. So I understand and have watched more games than you'd think, though they were all when I was a kid.

- boxing. My Dad was a boxer and used to teach boxing at the local gym. I've watched a LOT of boxing.

- tennis. No idea why, but my Dad loved to watch tennis and always dreamed of going to Wimbledon and having strawberries and cream for breakfast. Back in the McInroe, Borg, Conners, Evert, Navratilova era. So much tennis, all the time.

- open wheel racing (NOT NASCAR). I grew up watching this and it was the only sport I developed a love for, and watched as an adult. I was a very big Indycar fan for a long time. Once the league split and the IRL was formed, it became too splintered and hard to follow and then when we lost the Grand Prix here, it just kind of fell to a very low priority for me. But I used to subscribe to a trade mag for it and once wrote the cover story on the Cleveland Grand Prix for the Scene. Grew up watching Andretti, Rahal, etc.

LeBron is leading all players in the Finals in Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals and Blocks..... for BOTH teams.  (actually, he is tied for 1st in Rebounds)

And BTW, with Bogut out and Iguodala hurting, the Cavs have a much better chance to do what seemed impossible only a week ago.

I've been saying all along that winning a championship often requires a good bit of luck / good fortune.  These two injuries and Barnes going ice-cold from the floor is a huge blow to GSW.  I don't know that there is a player in the league who is better at guarding LeBron than Iggy.

The score last night was 115-101.  115 + 101 = 216.  Just sayin'

Warriors haven't scored more than 110 points in any game in this series.

Meanwhile in the three Cavs wins they've scored: 112, 115 and 120 points.

Maybe the Warriors explode in Game 7 but I like what Klay said after the game. GSW has to be "tough" like the Cavs. Worried more about defense than offense. LeBron and Co. are totally taking them out of their game. I'm stunned at how fast the Cavs are getting in the Warriors' collective head especially after the Cavs' performances in Games 1 and 2.

After last night, some other meanings are being speculated upon.  :)

LeBron has scored 41 two games in a row.

41 times 3 would equal 123......or should we say Won 23?

LeBron lost the first two Game 7's he played in his career.  He has won the last three.

I commented on it that Ayesha is more sour.

If that St. Patty's Day parade that was on a Saturday with 80 degree sunshine a few years back could draw 500,000 people downtown, this should be a shock to absolutely no one.

Curry should be suspended for Game 7.  Throwing his mouth-guard and hitting a fan is not acceptable.  He didn't even aim it toward the floor; threw straight into the stands.  Lucky he didn't hit someone in the face with that thing.

Unacceptable behavior from anyone let alone the NBA's ''MVP''.

Just showing his true colors I guess.  Things not going his way, lookout.  Next season maybe the NBA should place hockey like glass shields where Curry plays in case he has another tantrum.

Win or lose, it was nice seeing Curry on his #ss a couple of times and that brutal Curry blocked-shot by LeBron will be on my replay list for  some time to come.

To add: watching the video again from another shot it looks like Curry was aiming for a particular fan at courtside.  Right at him and Curry, of course, hit his target.  What a brat.

The fan was the son of one of the Cavs' minority owners, Nate Forbes. And I thought I saw somewhere that he said the mouthpiece did hit him in the face. Regardless, I don't think that he was aiming at any particular fan. If he was in some type of thing with that fan and hit him with anything, a suspension would be warranted. But the precedent of a fine with no suspension has already been set for chucking a mouthpiece into the stands as it has happened before. No way they up that precedent for the MVP in a game 7. And I don't want the asterisk anyways. Haslam got a one game suspension for something similar in the Finals but he threw his mouthpiece at a ref

On another note, here's something that hasn't been mentioned much - LeBron was 1 steal short of a quad-nickel in G6 & 2 blocks short of a quint-nickel.... and he dropped 41..... for the second straight game. Dude is not human.

Of course Curry isn't going to be suspended for Game 7, but he should be.

Does it matter if he was aiming for a particular fan?  No.  That thing was going to hit some fan in the seating area regardless.

Players that throw objects into the stands should be fined and suspended.  End that issue once and for all.  Someone will get injured.

What's 25K to Curry?

You be the judge. It sure looks like he looks right at him and throws a perfect spiral.

https://vine.co/v/il52zJ9XzeD

Sure looks like he targeted that guy.  There's a pause, look and then that spiral right into that fan.

I knew Curry wasn't as easy going as he comes across.  Spoiled brat.

Yep, looked right him and...SWISH...like his 30' 3 pointers.  He clearly hit his target, unless he all of the sudden became a bad aim.

I can live with Steph Curry OR Klay Thompson scoring points as long as the other teammates are being shut down. Obviously try to shut Curry or Thompson down but if ONE of them is on fire then just shut out the rest of the team, they won't win the game by themselves.

We've got to limit Love's minutes tomorrow.  He's the only starter in Game 6 that had a minus +/-.  Love is a good player and valuable against most teams, but NOT against the Warriors.  Numerous Bay Area sports reporters have written/said the Warriors prefer Love.  The best thing that happened to the Cavs in this series was when Love was out for Game 3 and limited in Game 6 with fouls.  I'm not just trying to beat up on Love but, rather, looking at the facts and what's best for us to win a Title tomorrow night.  Lue has got some tough decisions to make with everything on the line in this one, single game.

This is not a beat-up on Love but, as you state, looking at the facts.  I've been thinking the same thing about him.  This is the Finals Game 7 after all.

I'm trying not to think too much about Game 7; tough not to though. Just want to head out at 7:50pm tomorrow, grab a beer and see what happens.

LeBron has been amazing the past two games (at GSW and CLE)...OK, I'm talking about it...I did say I'm trying.

This is a brutal weekend.

I think that watering holes across Northeast Ohio will be packed tomorrow; might have to head out a little before then to get a seat someplace. I'd like to be lubed up a bit before opening tip anyways.

its the eve of ending 50 years of misery.  Enjoy the game everyone.  Catch you on the other side Monday  and hopefully we are celebrating.

^I'm absolutely thrilled with what we've done and where we are right now; amazing... That said, this is going to be a nerve-wracking 24 hours.

I can't sleep

I slept fine. I've pre-programmed myself and pre-managed my expectations with the realization that this was a longshot, especially when the Cavs were down 3-1. No team has ever come back from that and won the Finals. For the Cavs to come back and force a Game 7 by itself is remarkable. To do it against a near-perfect team with the most regular season wins in NBA history is even more remarkable. So the odds say the Cavs shouldn't even be in this position, tonight.

Yep, I'll still be disappointed if they lose. But I have four decades of experience with this. If the Cavs lose, I'll wake up tomorrow feeling the same as I did when I woke up today.

I've never experienced the Browns heartbreak, or Indians heartbreak so this game will be THE MOST STRESSFUL GAME I'VE EXPERIENCED!!!!! I get stressed over a regular season game, this will be intensified x1,000,000! UGH! Part of me wants to watch and experience the entire game 7 experience but part of me wants to flip back and forth to save my heart.

Very normal. I hope the drought ends tonight. Young people don't need to share the experiences of the 40-and-older crowd, who emotionally "duck" automatically every time a Cleveland team enters the postseason. But I can tell you that you can survive the pain from those losses, even the improbable we-had-that-game-won, God-hates-us type losses. They will change you and you'll have new brothers-in-pain that only your fellow Clevelanders can fully understand. You will swear off Cleveland sports forever yet you will come back, albeit not with the same trust and hope that you once had. Of course, I hope you never get to experience the decades of this drought. If it ends tonight, you will be lucky. You will be spared. If not, you will survive.

I can't sleep

It's almost here....

One of my Facebook friends posted at 5:15 p.m. that if you weren't already downtown at that point, don't bother coming unless you're cool with standing room only.  And not standing room inside a bar.  Standing room near a bar would be a good find.  And that's for an away game.  I can't even imagine what it would be like for a home game.

Yeah, the Cavs truly deserved to win that one.

Hell of an Indians game too. Not a shabby Sunday

Congrats Cleveland! Go Cleveland! go OHIO!

The curse is done. Let's go Cavs!

WoooHooo!!!

I'm worried that this will forever overshadow the Monsters' Calder Cup.

Blessed be the King!  Now I have a forever connection to the 21 Lounge.  Can't talk and my arm hurts from high-fiving.  Congratulations to everyone!

If you watched the JR Smith press conference and, at least, didn't get choked up, you don't have a pulse.  It was almost as amazing as the game itself.  Just shows that sports is more than a game but human drama, as well.
