June 20, 20168 yr ^ JR Smith post game got me going pretty hard Edit: This team is a real collection of mensches, like I've never seen.
June 20, 20168 yr willie mayes dropped the ball, byner held on to it and rocky colavito finally forgave us, etc., etc. ok they didn't, but it doesn't matter anymore!!! i've never seen anything like this. and never thought i would. so truly earned -- the hard way.   but whats this i heard about naked guy on a donkey? :-o :-D
June 20, 20168 yr Kyrie Irving was BIG in this game and series. In his first real finals he hits the game winner in the "unanimous MVP" face! GO CAVSSSSSSSSS THE CURSE IS OVER! Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
June 20, 20168 yr I've been living in Italy the past few months and haven't seen many games. But I stayed up til sunrise last night watching. What a night. This means so much for the city, to get this curse monkey off our backs. And LeBron, all you can say is wow. He's realized what has really been his purpose since 2003. Can't wait to hear the stories of the general feel of the city today. Enjoy it everyone.

June 20, 20168 yr Guys, you know I don't even like sports and I was crying last night, and already crying this morning watching clips and coverage. Pretty sure this is the first time I have ever pulled up the ESPN website in my life, ha. What an amazing game.
June 20, 20168 yr Downtown was nuts last night. We took the rapid from Shaker and the two cars we were on were packed to capacity. We transferred and went to West 25th to ABC and it wasn't that crowded until the second half, when it just became insanely crowded. After the team won, we rushed out into the streets like most of the city and celebrated. It was unbelievable. The ride back was fairly uneventful, although Terminal Tower was crowded beyond belief. What a day. If 400,000 crowd downtown for the Penguins, how many will show up for a city that hadn't had a championship in 52 years? Wednesday is the day!
June 20, 20168 yr I'm worried that this will forever overshadow the Monsters' Calder Cup. Eff-it! Let's be greedy and hope for some October baseball in Cleveland too!
June 20, 20168 yr http://www.foxsports.com/nba/story/kyrie-irving-three-over-curry-game-7-cavaliers-warriors-nba-finals-video-061916 Craig Ehlo is smiling today. #PosterChild

After the game I walked from W 25th to downtown and gave out more high fives than I've ever given in my life!!

June 20, 20168 yr it took awhile to get these ny newpaper covers this morning, but im lovin it. yesterday i cant wait to see uo'er photos from around downtown or wherever last night!
June 20, 20168 yr I was sitting behind the backboard at Richfield when Jordan got off "the shot". Half of the arena stood up, including myself and my friends, because we thought he didn't get it off in time. Then we saw Jordan dancing around and knew he made it. Now Kyrie owns "the shot". Just awesome. Get ready Cleveland because the world is about to descend on the city for the parade!
June 20, 20168 yr It's finally over. I thought I'd never see a championship. Yesterday I saw my 49 years of the 52-year drought end. Tomorrow I will get married. Pretty good week for me. :) "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
June 20, 20168 yr Absolute surreal feeling last night. I stayed home to watch it with my son, who just turned 10 this weekend. He was born 10 years ago on Father's Day 2006. We got to share this moment Father's Day 2016. (Yes, I already have plans to buy lottery tickets on Father's Day 2026). After I got him off to bed, I took the dog out. Now, keep in mind that I live in the inner ring but a solid 1 mile from any 'action'. I probably sat on my front porch for 30-45 minutes just listening to the honking, yelling, chants, cheering, etc. way off in the distance. It sounded like it was coming from nearly every direction. Insane.
June 20, 20168 yr I think this is an extra special & emotional win for a number of reasons. Following sports my whole life, I'm not sure I recall such an emotional win, except maybe Brett Favre winning a Super Bowl. So many other teams and players, of course it's special for all of them but this is just different. Watching the national news, you get the sense that the rest of the world realizes how special it is also. For Cleveland, for the fans, and for Lebron, it's a major accomplishment. We've all gotten a big monkey off our backs.

June 20, 20168 yr So where will the Statue of Liberty sized make up of LeBron be put? Off the shore near the Rock Hall? On Jacobs forever vacant lot next to PS? Over I-90 as you enter the city from the east? I guess this topic should be on the Cleveland developments thread :)
June 20, 20168 yr Nice job, Nike.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWGgMbcTbFk "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
June 20, 20168 yr ^My BF shot about a third of that. Last year. But it obviously couldn't be released then. When you date a camera man, sometimes you have to keep the work they do a secret for a very long time. :)

So were the actors local?
June 20, 20168 yr Never been happier to be so wrong. I thoughts the Warriors 3 pt shooting would prevail in one of the final 3 games, but they angered LeBron and you only anger mere mortals. What a historic performance in these elimination games. What a moment for Cleveland. I didn't grow up in NE Ohio, but my sports loyalties are there via my dad & family. They've been waiting much longer than I have. Now...are the area hospitals ready for a bunch of babies to be born in 9 months? Very Stable Genius

June 20, 20168 yr I sure wish I could get one of those Plain Dealers to keep for my kid, but I have to work all day and pick him up right after work, can't go driving around all day looking for newspapers. Anyone have a stockpile that I could buy one off of?
June 20, 20168 yr Nice job, Nike.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWGgMbcTbFk Now I gotta find a copy where Cavaliers is spelled correctly......argh

I will be purchasing one on ebay from the PD when they are listed. Individual sellers have some listed but for $$. I will wait for the PD's posting. http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2016/06/how_can_i_get_cavs_nba_champio.html
June 20, 20168 yr Im thinking the route the St. Pat's parade takes, since that's been done, including under current construction restrictions.
June 20, 20168 yr Im thinking the route the St. Pat's parade takes, since that's been done, including under current construction restrictions. That would probably be the easiest one to implement on short notice, assuming the city hadn't planned this ahead of time. June 20, 20168 yr I say we expand the parade and make it a city "Parade of Champions" - Stipe Miocic - Lake Erie Monsters - Cleveland Cavaliers Heck, the Cleveland public schools won the world robotics competition this year as well. :)
June 20, 20168 yr I haven't seen or heard this mentioned much, but I was very proud of the City for avoiding a lot of the nonsense which occurs for whatever reason when a championship is won. I've talked to a lot of people who were downtown and it sounds as if there was nothing but love and happiness in the packed streets.
June 20, 20168 yr Im thinking the route the St. Pat's parade takes, since that's been done, including under current construction restrictions. I thought this at first, too, but then I took a look at other cities' past routes and pictures of their parades. I think the St. Patty's route is half of what the route needs to be. If Pittsburgh had 350,000 at their hockey parade.. I would expect at least 500,000 in Cleveland to end a 52 year drought. I hope the city puts an effort in making a longer route so everyone can truly be in attendance.

June 20, 20168 yr Congrats ohio!! I made the trip last night to watch, wherever I could *turned out being screens in the Q From the main entrance area... After the game, I was at ground zero and saw the minimal damage occur.. I was wondering, if anyone knew the extent of the damage overall for downtown? Police did an excellent job breaking up 3 fights outside the Q, I felt for a 52 year drought, most behaved themselves pretty well.. I'm glad the 30 people on the scaffolding got down safe, was pretty worried for about 45 min

Nobody was interested in wrecking stuff, which I think says a lot about the town.
June 20, 20168 yr I've gotta say, if you're commending a city for not rioting, those are some pretty low expectations and standards.
June 20, 20168 yr as it goes in the middle of all this it turns out a friends daughter is a cavs girl lol
June 20, 20168 yr Consider the fact that Golden State, from the end of the Finals last year, set out to disprove the premise that: had Cleveland had Kyrie and Love, we would have beaten them last year. Well, despite running up a 73-9 record breaking season, beating the Cavs twice along the way (beating once then destroying us in the other game), having the unanimous MVP ... in the end, the Warriors failed to disprove the premise. In the end, Golden State was a failure. ... when the Cavs had their full team, Golden State couldn't win the Finals... meaning, yep, had we had the Big 3 last year, we'd have won then, too... That chip on the Warriors' shoulder? Cavs knocked it off.
June 20, 20168 yr also, i think that season record will stand for quite awhile. so at least they have that. look at what happens when you go all out at the end of the season for something so vain and ultimately meaningless like that. you put your team in serious danger of upcoming playoff problems, injuries, fatigue and serious discombobulation. perhaps just like what once happened to the patriots.
