My sources say he is, and has been planning for quite some time.  He wants his boys to play high school ball at SVSM and is interested in attracting other NBA talent with similar-aged sons to the Cavs.

Question is, will that be this move...or one more down the road closer to retirement.

In which case, he can just go ahead and finish his career elsewhere.  We want him in his prime, not on some pathetic farewell tour.  Hopefully the Cavaliers don't sink to that...but seeing how the Tribe treated Thome, we're suckers in this town and really deserve better.

Interesting, cryptic tweet from a Cavs marketing guy from 10:49 pm July 4....

"@akinzel12: Cleveland is about to become one exciting city. Stay tuned..."

So who is he? He's tight enough with Lebron get this tweet from him....

It is getting VERY hot on twitter. I'm starting for the first time believe that he may return

I'm with Klingaling. I won't believe it until he signs on the bottom line. With that being said, I think the chances are increasing by the day.

A lot of people. who don't know anything, have sources.  I'm passively paying attention until something happens.  It isn't worth digging deep into the twitters for unsubstantiated rumors.

Regarding Kevin Love, I don't think the Cavs have to trade as much value as people think. The reality is, Minnesota is going to lose him no matter what. The only questions are, do they get nothing for him next year when he becomes a free agent? Or do they get something for him while they still can? As more time goes on, Minnesota's options become less and less. So if teams don't like Minnesota's demands, they can afford to wait. One thing the Cavs do have going for them is they have a stockpile of first-round draft picks they can use to add talent via the draft or trades. They have the flexibility and should never feel like they MUST do anything.

Well this personal trainer who says he knows lebron better either be right or have a good rock to hide under. He's going all in on his belief, doing local radio interviews and everything

Yeah I just spent a ton of time reading through his tweets since Thursday and as optimistic as I'm becoming I still don't know where his information is coming from.

And then there is this (Not sure how legit to take it as it is coming from fantasy sports blog):

Source Confirms LeBron James is Coming Back to Cleveland

This summer has certainly taken a 180 degree circle. Before, it seemed that Carmelo Anthony would leave New York and sign with a contender while LeBron James and the Heat would sign some help. Oh, how the wheels have turned.

A writer for The Akron Beacon Journal was told by Dru Joyce II that he reviewed a text from LeBron James shortly after the Finals and said he’s “coming back to Cleveland,” according to Josh Teplitz, of North East Ohio, who is close to The Akron Beacon Journal writer. Our source says the writer has confirmed that the text was not taken out of context due to the circumstances of the aftermath of the Finals. The source continued that he is “110% confident that LeBron is coming back” after hearing what the Akron Beacon Journal writer told him.

The big question is when will this become official? Lebron most likely won’t want this to linger on leading up to his Skills Academy in Akron beginning July 9th, so expect a decision before then.

The Kyrie Irving extension came as a little bit of a surprise. It was reported that it took only two hours to finalize his deal. Perhaps he was in on the “LeBron James Text Message Frenzy!” Most think that the stories of Kyrie not being happy in Cleveland were smokescreens created by Miami media trying to lure LeBron back to the  Miami Heat.

As for reasons for leaving the Heat, LeBron supposedly told Joyce that there is disconnect between Chris Bosh and James. Bosh is seeking max money, as is James. Four years ago, the Big 3 took pay cuts in order to team up. Their windows of cashing in on big paydays are closing and Bosh wants to cash in one last time. There have been reports that Bosh will be offered a max deal by the Houston Rockets and that the Lakers will be interested in his services, if he doesn’t resign with Miami. The Heat are already trying to find a replacement for James by bringing in Luol Deng, who has already met by Erik Spoelstra and Pat Riley.

It's kind of fun. Alot out there, national media not touching it. If they do touch it they will be behind underground CLE social media. I think he comes back and Cavs get either Bosh or Love as part of the persuasion. Hope it happens but there are alot of keyboard warriors out there, hard to believe anyone

I have to think that, if lebron left miami, bosh will either stay with the Heat or go to Huston.

Listening to a national show today, the point was made that if LeBron leaves Miami, he's really hanging Wade out to dry because he opted out and almost certainly left a lot of money on the table.  Is he really that cold-blooded?

He left the Cavs organization out to dry in 2010 so...

Wade also opted out days after lbj did. It's not like they did it at the same time. That's wades fault if he left money on the table.

Exactly. I mean I get they're friends, but this is business.

Huge tweet from Chris Broussard. Finally national guys pitching in. I think it's happening...

^ "@chris_broussard: Cleveland has replaced Miami as my frontrunner to land LeBron James..."

"@chris_broussard: I'm not saying LJ to Cavs is done deal or I know 4 a fact; just my gut feeling based on many conversations  I've had around this story..."

"@chris_broussard: These convos aren't sourced enough 4 me to report as fact. But I've heard enough to believe "the wind is blowing" LJ back home. We'll see..."

It was fun last evening watching people tweet the travel progress of Dan Gilbert's plane on FlightAware. The rumor is that Z was on the plane, which landed in Fort Lauderdale. But if Z was on the plane, why did it depart from Pontiac, MI Airport and not from a Cleveland-area airport?

EDIT: BTW, the putz Windhorst is now acknowledging that Lebron's "decision" is down to between Cleveland and Miami. And why is Lebron meeting with Pat Riley in the next day or two, when Lebron previously said he didn't need to meet with him because Lebron "already knows what they can offer."

Because your minions come to you for final instructions/recap before you send them out to do your bidding.

Wojnarowski has a story up that reports Rich Paul, Lebron's agent, is "pushing for the superstar's return to Cleveland."  It seems that Paul has leapfrogged Maverick Carter in recent years as far as influence on Lebron, so this is good.  Also noteworthy is that many reported back in 2010 that Paul was the one most against him leaving in the first place and he was the only one of the "horsemen" who stayed in Cleveland post Decision 2010.

Re Windhorst.... take everything you hear from that guy with a grain of salt.  He is pooping his pants right now.  He burned the ABJ to go the PD and then burned the PD to go cover the Heat for ESPN.  This whole episode has shown he is not nearly as connected to the 'inner circle' as he once was.  Probably reported one too many leaks.  One wonders where he goes from here if Lebron does return.  He is one helluva basketball analyst, but I don't think he is as good as the other national guys in terms of relationship building with sources.  His leverage has always been the feeling that he is more connected to Lebron's camp than any other reporter.

FWIW, many people suspect Broussard's 'source' is Rich Paul himself.

I've been wondering if these rumors about James leaning toward the cavs is that paul really wants him to come to Cleveland and is leading the cavs on in hopes that he can convince lebron.  It might be wishful thinking on Rich Paul's part and has nothing to do with LeBron's decision.

And to be used for leverage with the Heat.

I don't think the Heat can possibly do anything else. Not enough payroll to go around.

Rich Paul in not trying to get LeBron to come back, It's more likely LeBron asked directed Paul to find a way to get him back to the area.  I believe LeBron's return has been decided for a while as was the case when he left.

^More likely that Lebron is just now on the 'same page' with Paul.  I have very little doubt that Paul wants him to come back and clear the one black mark on his legacy.

Cleveland would be the LAST team LBJ's camp would use for leverage against Miami.  There is no way...... not a chance.

Someone sent out this vine today and it made me laugh.  A depiction of Cleveland on this Monday, June 7, 2014 - https://vine.co/v/hQFqeHXUUTv

If I'm the Heat, and I want to try to make this a done deal right now, I forget about Bosh and maybe even Wade, and work LeBron on the idea of building a team around himself and Carmello.  The Heat really don't need to wait for Bosh to make a move.

All I know at this point is that this better F'n happen....

BTW, latest word is that Bosh has been offered a 4-year max contract worth $96 million by Houston.

Breaking: @cavs have traded Jarrett Jack to the #magic for a future 2nd Round Pick. They just cleared 6.3m in cap room.

Sources: Rockets offer Bosh max deal of 4 yrs, $96 million. After weekend convo with LeBron and low offer from Heat, Bosh considering offer

Is that enough tea leaves for you doubters to read?!?!?

EDIT - Dang it.  I think that is the first time I have ever fallen for a twitter impostor.  My bad.  The Broussard info is still momentous IMO.... especially the "After weekend convo with LeBron" part

There's been a lot of these in recent days. There was a fake Jason Lloyd account yesterday that duped Mike Cairns of WEWS and Dawg Pound Nation. Both later apologized for misleading fans.

Okay, getting this back on topic, let me throw out a conspiracy/potential situation that worries me:

Behind the scenes, LeBron gently tells Bosh that it's time for him to hit the bricks because the Heat don't want him back.  The endgame being that LeBron has agreed in principle to return to Miami if Riley can woo Carmello.

Or even if that's not the case and LeBron has nothing to do with Bosh potentially leaving, if he does leave, either way it opens up space for the Heat to go after Carmello to appease LeBron.

Thoughts?

Miami has the same cap problems, or even worse, if they try to replace Bosh with Carmelo.  There was an outside chance that Bosh would take somewhere around $5mill less annually than he could get on the open market.  No way Melo takes that kind of paycut when both the Knicks and the Lakers have the full max salary on the table for him.  Regardless, the issue is not keeping a Big Three intact.  Miami can do that easy.  The issue is upgrading the rest of the roster.

Riley swung and missed on Kyle Lowry (re-signed with Toronto), swung and missed on Marcin Gortat (re-signed with Washington).  He wanted Gasol or Deng to take the full mid-level exception (around $5.5 annually) which would've been a huge pay-cut for either of those players..... but he obviously whiffed on that too considering he just agreed in principle to use the MLE on Josh McRoberts (you can only use the MLE once), who isn't exactly what you would term the 'missing piece'

I don't see how losing Bosh to gain Anthony improves the Heat all that much.  How many playoff series has Carmelo won?

THIS JUST IN: Josh McRoberts commits to sign deal with Heat. 4-yr deal estimated at $23 million.

Josh McRoberts to Miami. If that convinces LeBron to go to Miami, he'll soon be buying ocean-front property in Akron

This discussion has taken a turn for the worst. I came here to hear what people were saying about the whole LBJ circus and found myself deleting all the stupid posts from jmnempire and any that were responding to it. Stop trolling and giving Cincinnati a bad name jmnempire!

If you want to discuss my decision feel free to private message me, but don't respond here about it because it will just get deleted again and I won't respond.

Anyone wanting to put money on the Cavs winning the NBA championship next year better get on the line with their bookie pronto.  The odds are going down by the minute.  Vegas knows, baby!

I generally consider myself an optimist, but I'm skeptical he'd actually come back.  That said, I am refreshing my twitter feed non-stop today! Particularly looking for (real) news that we've traded Jack.

Mcroberts?  LOL

Riley is going to say "Lebron, we are all in here...we just signed Josh McROberts"

Personally, I was glad he left, and really didn't care for him since he wore the Yankee cap.  I took that as an insult to all Cleveland fans.  Loyalty is most important to me.

I don't really care now, and him coming back isn't a guarantee of a championship.  He didn't win it here obviously, and he didn't win it every year in Miami.

I'd like to think that the NBA is bigger than one player, and I'd much rather have a team which won it in spite of James not coming back.

Mcroberts?  LOL

Riley is going to say "Lebron, we are all in here...we just signed Josh McROberts"

And Danny Granger too!  Looks like Riley just used the bi-annual exception on him...... which means, contingent on the Big Three returning, the Heat will have their old roster minus Battier (and probably Birdman) plus Nappier, McRoberts, and (washed up, worn down) Granger, plus whomever they can convince to sign up on veteran minimum salaries.  FWIW, there has always been a rumbling that Granger and Lebron have a strong personal dislike for each other.  Riley might've been better off signing Lance Stephenson :)

If LeBron returns, does Birdman do a McSorley, and come with him?

^More likely Ray Allen

People grow up and change.  You can find him wearing Joe Haden and Johnny Maziel jerseys in recent memory.  He was a different guy 4 years ago, no doubt.

Oh I'm not saying it does, but I'm also not 100% certain that every move being made here is rational.  The novelty and excitement that LeBron might see in being given the chance to team up with Carmello Anthony may outweigh the possibilities for him of going to a place where there is quite a bit upside in growing young talent, or reteaming up with two aging stars who it seems clear aren't going to be able to help him get any more rings.
