April 26, 201510 yr That was such an obvious cheap shot by Olynyk, you don't hold on to a players arm and twist it like that to keep him away from the ball. That is ridiculous that anyone thinks it wasn't intentional.
April 26, 201510 yr ^i agree. The whole series was a bunch of BS plays, horrible officiating, and cheap shots by Boston. Then the moment we get a few in there, they cry like we are the dirtiest team on the floor. Get a grip. The announcers should be ashamed as well...
April 27, 201510 yr This is what a bitter fan does when his favorite team loses badly to a longtime losing city. Classless, @abc & @espn. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
April 27, 201510 yr I can't help but feel like the Celtics have just knocked the Cavs out of the playoffs.
April 27, 201510 yr damn its a dislocated shoulder. out for at least two weeks. as usual we get no love. no love at all.
April 27, 201510 yr I gave JR Smith a standing O for knocking Crowder the bleep out. Boston was playing dirty knowing their season was over. What do they have to prove playing like that? Smith's hit on Crowder looked unintentional. Olnyk's tug looked very intentional and since the Celtics seemed to be hiding him after that, Perkins retaliated opportunistically. This is exactly why he is on the team and it's good to see Blatt finally understands this isn't international ball.
April 27, 201510 yr damn its a dislocated shoulder. out for at least two weeks. as usual we get no love. no love at all. At least it was not a full separation. FWIW, Andre Miller suffered a dislocated shoulder a few years ago and played 2 days later. It all depends on the amount of ligament damage. But yes, at least two weeks is a safe bet. at least it is his non shooting arm
April 27, 201510 yr Smith's hit was definitely intentional. I think he got really unlucky with the swipe and nailed Crowder right in the chin. It was a dirty play and, because he leveled Crowder, it looked way worse than JR intended. I hope the NBA takes into account intent more than the result or else a repeat offender like JR could get a long suspension. 2-4 games if the NBA wants to send a message. The Cavs really need JR's offense with KLove out. Perk should have been ejected too.
April 27, 201510 yr I don't think the sky is falling, yet. The cavs can still win this series regardless. We will have the best two players on the floor and we forget what Lebron is capable of. He has a legacy at stake, while it wont be easy, I believe he can overcome. If Kyrie can have one of "those" games, then look out. I actually like our bench. We need guys to hit shots and Miller, Jones and Marion have all been there before. Chicago isn't the greatest offensive team in the world, so they wont run all over our defense if we have some old timers in there. I think it will be more difficult, but I like our chances.
April 27, 201510 yr At least it was not a full separation. FWIW, Andre Miller suffered a dislocated shoulder a few years ago and played 2 days later. It all depends on the amount of ligament damage. But yes, at least two weeks is a safe bet. at least it is his non shooting arm Still, he needs both arms to rebound. If love is only a shooter, then we have JR for that (maybe!). Shump filled in for Love yesterday and played his best game as a Cav. If Love is out for any length of time, I hope there's more of that in Shump's tank. April 27, 201510 yr Crap. Double crap. It will be interesting to say the least. Best comment on FTS: Cleveland®
April 27, 201510 yr I'm anxiously awaiting the announcement from the NBA of their suspensions for yesterday's officials. I'm really pissed right now, but I'm confident that James and Irving will be as motivated as they've been in their entire careers. I still think the Cavaliers can win this series despite not having Love. Can Smith appeal his suspension?
April 28, 201510 yr The NBA really screwed Cleveland with the JR decision. Meanwhile, Olynyk should get 5 games next season, at least. To hell with all the nicey-nice talk from defenders of Boston. Olynyk meant to hurt Kevin, it's patently obvious. He wasn't going for the ball but since he had Love's arm, he made sure he was going to wrench it out of its socket. Boston was beaten and they could have lost with honor and hope for a bright future. No, they decide to go negative. There was clearly a 'hit' out for our stars, from LeBron to Kyrie to Love. And Kevin had a big target on his back since he delivered the dagger in Game 3 and skipped around the court in Boston... they were going to make him, and the Cavs, pay. I hate Boston now more than I ever have ... and that's saying something!
April 28, 201510 yr Olynyk should get 5 because it wasn't a basketball move, but jr shouldn't get anything for punching at somebody (not a basketball move)?
April 28, 201510 yr Olynyk got a 1-game suspension -- the first game of next season. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
April 28, 201510 yr I'm watching the bulls right now. They don't scare me. I think the Cavs will split the first two at home, but that won't concern me...we have to win on the road anyway. The important thing is to not lose two at home in the first two, and with LeBron... I don't see that happening. I will miss Kevin love as much as the next person, but the best defense the cavs played the whole series was after the injury. cavs 4-2
April 28, 201510 yr I just watched the video of JR's punch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxyWn2AiORY Look how Crowder runs up, pops him with his shoulder and then pushes him. I'm not saying what JR did was right, it clearly wasn't. But it's absurd how arbitrary the refs were in that game. Kryie, JR, Lebron, et al were getting banged on in the paint by Boston with no ramifications. Either you let the players have it out or you strictly control the game.
April 28, 201510 yr Time to move on. We all know what the cavs have to deal with and the team knows too. Fans and team energy needs to be focused on a great home court advantage with the idea we should win the series
April 28, 201510 yr Well, now we know if someone rips Noah's arm out of the socket it's only a one game suspension.
April 28, 201510 yr Well, now we know if someone rips Noah's arm out of the socket it's only a one game suspension. That's OK. His is a REALLY ugly arm. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
April 28, 201510 yr Well, now we know if someone rips Noah's arm out of the socket it's only a one game suspension. Two additional for making her cry. (not hard to do)
April 28, 201510 yr what we want is the bucks to keep winning as they just did and drag it out for the bulls. time, that's what we want now!
April 28, 201510 yr Nets tie Atlanta 2-2, which is amazing. If Hollins can keep Williams interested and keep feeding Lopez in the paint, the Nets could upset Atlanta, which has size issues with Brooklyn, the Cavs and a lot of teams. If the Nets could take out the Hawks it would make the Cavs' path to the Larry O'Brien that much easier. Meanwhile there's much angst in the Windy City -- much of it, surprisingly, directed at Derrick Rose -- because of the Bulls' inability to close out the banged-up Bucks. And if Milwaukee hadn't choked away Game 3, they would be ahead 3-2. Still, if they force a Game 7, all bets are off.
April 28, 201510 yr ^ Derrick Rose was repeatedly trying to drive on 3 bodies in the paint, and getting stuffed. He has a hard time spreading the ball around. I understand the angst.
April 28, 201510 yr The Bucks are looking like the better coached team. AS series evolve, you make adjustments. The Bucks ran out to early leads in game 1 & 2 vs Chicago but ultimately the talent prevailed. Kidd made adjustments in game 3 and it has been a different story. The bulls are still relying on individual talent, the bucks are moving the ball so well, its really pretty to watch. I hope this goes 7, either way, Lebron has to be watching this and thinking "we can beat either of these guys" even short handed. I think it may be the Wizards on the other side of the bracket. Pierce still would scare me.
April 28, 201510 yr "@twithersAP: This has been a good night for #Cavs. They won't play until next Monday." Cavs should be well-rested. Too rested? "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

April 28, 201510 yr BTW I'm amazed more people aren't recognizing Shump is the guy to step up in Love's absence. Tristan will surely play more as will James Jones and even Matrix. But Shump can shoot the 3, rebound and be a force in the paint. Probably not as well as Love, but enough to get the Cavs to the Finals at least. Of course, the only opinion that matters is Blatt's. April 29, 201510 yr what we want is the bucks to keep winning as they just did and drag it out for the bulls. time, that's what we want now! Milwaukee's already won more games then I hoped they would. At this point, I'm getting greedy: I want to see them take the series.

Shumpert shot 40% from 3 a few years ago, but he's a career 34% shooter. I wouldn't feel good about him stepping in and taking more shots unless he really catches fire...or maybe if Kyrie and LeBron get him more open looks.

May 1, 201510 yr While I hate the rumor/speculation game, I have to admit this one perked up my ears.... Assuming KLove wants out (I don't think he does), how about swapping him in a sign-and-trade for LaMarcus Aldridge? Love is from Portland and Aldridge wants to play for a title contender, which Portland hasn't managed to cobble together. I've always like LMA's game and think he would appreciate playing next to a physical center like Timo since he is more of a finesse post player.
May 2, 201510 yr ^in a second. I saw Aldridge this year when they came to town. His talents are so rare. I think he is the best power forward in the game, but because Portland is a small market and west coast, he's just not revered. Easily most underrated player in the NBA and better than love. I would be happy if we kept love, but if he left and we got Aldridge. I'd forget about it real quick
May 2, 201510 yr per the post -- high ceilinged brownstone in harlem available! Harlem brownstone once rented by ex-Knick Shumpert up for sale By Jennifer Gould Keil April 29, 2015 | 7:42pm Now that Iman Shumpert is making waves with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the ex-New York Knick no longer needs his Harlem brownstone rental, which is on the market for $3.8 million. The renovated Hamilton Heights home at 405 West 148th St. in the Sugar Hill district stands 20 feet wide. It comes with extra-high ceilings (Shumpert is 6’5”). The second-floor master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a claw-foot tub and separate stall shower. The elegant home is now split into an owners triplex and a garden rental duplex, says Corcoran broker Julia Boland.
May 4, 201510 yr well. Here we are. Im a little nervous. I think there will be times during this series where we don't know who is going to score for us. I think the cavs can prevail, as this team is still better than anything that Lebron had his first tour in Cleveland. Im not expert, but the keys I have been thinking about: 1.) If Blatt is a quality coach, it will show in games 1 & 2. He had 8 days knowing Kevin Love and JR Smith were not playing to scheme. They HAVE to split the first two. So what was Blatt doing? They are going to have the two best player son the floor, but will need more. I am hoping there are many sets where James Jones and Miller have wide open shots, and based on their history you would expect them to hit those. THey need to play a whole different game relative to what they did all season, which MAY ACTUALLY work to their favor, because the bulls may not know what to expect. 2.) Tristan and Shumpert are going to have to play to the level they did in in the final two games against Boston, for the whole cavs series. Shumpert will need to average around 10 points and 6-7 rebounds per game. If they can fill in for Loves rebounds, I think the other guys can fill in with the outside shooting. 3.)Legacies will be on the line. I think Lebron, even with the injuries, takes a hit if he leaves in the conference semis. I would expect LeBron and Kyrie to play to levels higher than we have seen all year in which case you have to like their chances.
May 4, 201510 yr ^ Nice. I think Shumpert's also going to get open looks. If he can just provide a somewhat reliable scoring threat I think that will be the difference in what everyone expects to be a really close series. Also I want to see MOZGOV and Tristan and LBJ all posterize Joking Noah by throwing down right in his ugly face. But if not I'll be glad just to see CLE take the win. Exciting stuff on tap!
May 4, 201510 yr I hate Noah and Dunleavy....... always hated them, going back to their college days.
May 4, 201510 yr Also I want to see MOZGOV and Tristan and LBJ all posterize Joking Noah by throwing down right in his ugly face. This x 1,000. She is far and away the biggest crybaby in the NBA.
May 4, 201510 yr I read somewhere that Rose's numbers dip when he only has two days of rest vs. more than 2. So tonight and game 7 would be the only days where he would have more than 2 days of rest. If you see an explosive Rose tonight, I wouldn't necessarily think you would see the same guy Wednesday.
May 5, 201510 yr Lots of things falling into place for Chicago to win this series. Regardless, it's not over by a long shot.
May 5, 201510 yr I think Game 1 bodes well for Cleveland. Bulls shot WAY too well tonight, and the Cavs still had opportunities to win. I can't see the Bulls playing that well too many more times this series, and with J.R. coming back, the series is still plenty open.
May 5, 201510 yr ^i somewhat agree, but we looked clueless half of the time. They desperately need JR back to spread the floor so we can work inside. They need to get the W on Wednesday.
May 5, 201510 yr There is no need to panic at all. Especially with LeBron going thru everything he did in Miami. He was down 0-1 many times during that tenure. He needs to play better though. Kyrie, shumpert had exceptional games and did what they had to for the team to win. LeBron looked fierce in the first half but after that 13-0 run by the Bulls looked out of sorts. Hate to waste the shumpert effort. Hate to say it but Wednesday could be the season. I said cavs must split first two at home a few posts up, still maintain that.
